The problem with all wireless tech (WiFi, WiMax, 3G and LTE) is the overhead and bursty nature of communication.

Yes. The packet loss is not very constant . It is difficult on wireless devices to get an acceptable ccq.(Signal quality) That is precisely why fps probably will suck even if you do get decent speeds.

I live on a plot, far away from fibre and copper is always stolen.
I also have the option of Vodacom or edge.
There I get around 4Mbps down and 3 up with a 40ms ping on lte.

At work we have a 1:1 contention line with zero throttling, no fup and completely uncapped.
Ping is intentionally high, had it down at 2ms average but that was messing with certain cloud based items.

Now that might just be decent enough for my home....to start my own torrent server with. :-) 1:1 is pretty expensive. Are you guys selling bandwidth?

Some impressive connections on here. I am with CrystalWeb on a 10MB Home Premium Uncapped line.

(Hoping to go to fibre in the very near future. :)

Just downgraded from 100 to 50. :o

About 40ish to Euro servers, 16ish to ZA. More importantly low pings...

Upload sucks balls...1meg officially but seems to deliver less. Oh well...not bad for 600 zar given that its uncapped.

LOL - SA isn't doing that badly on the fibre side. Progressing fast.

Regarding 100 to 50...just didn't get any value out of the 100 to be honest. In my case its quite a bit extra (about 600 zar) and in practice that just saves you a couple seconds here and there.

I wish we could get lte uncapped at reasonable prices...
