Hey at least you have some internet

I am waiting to see if they finish upgrading our exhange to MSAN (not that I know what it means) Apparently PsychoFish can explain it

MSAN is in the simplest explanation possible an upgrade from a DSLAM. The way the older exchanges work is that you would have one device that deals with POTS, one DSLAM (for xDSL), one for ISDN, etc etc ect. The MSAN (multi-service access node) essentially combines the POTS, DSLAM and ISDN connectivity types into a single platform/device.

This basically allows for them to ultimately roll out FTTx, xDSL, POTS and ISDN services from a single device and allows them to have much greater density while maintaining the same physical footprint.

Does this also mean that I will finally get my proper connection? aka more stable and sync higher than 6mb?

It depends where the exact issue on your line is. If it's between your house and the exchange nothing will change. If it was from the DSLAM to the upstream devices it might.

From what i understood it was an issue at the exchange, they replaced the wires to the house a while ago, so my line is stunningly stable, we used to sync at 8, but had to drop to 6 due to the exhange being congested.

Yeah, so that should sort out congesting a tad :-)
