Sigh just sigh

InSanity

Just wants the trophy
I already told the TK guys this but i need to rant a bit more
They broke into the GF's house tied up her brother the helper and the helpers son and then beat the shit out of them my gf came home and we think that scared them away cause when she got home she saw her brother tied up and he screamed run so she got out and called the cops i was still raging last night...

The thing that gets me the most is their helper is a tiny old lady why hit her on the head repeatedly with a fun or why kick the brothers head into the ground when hes not fighting back or resisting i mean i know its an intimidation tactic but still  gees i wanted blood yesterday :(

peep peep peep stupid freeking thiefs/murderers/sociopaths.
Because it makes them feel powerful.

Did they steal anything or just there to beat them?

Dude I would get out if you can. I mean how can it be any good for us to live in this constant fear of being attacked?

It's indeed very sad that this is the world we live in. Can hardly feel safe in your own home anymore. I hope all involved are ok.

Nah they stole things like jewellery's phones laptops etc nothing big

South Africa is a beautiful country, if it wasnt for the ridiculous crime and people like this, we would have one of the best countries in the world.

This stuff really annoys me, the way we have to live, always checking around you when entering your drive way, all windows barred up with motion sensors scattered everywhere. Its not a way to live.

Hope everyone is okay Insanity

@InSanity, sorry to hear of the ordeal man. Criminals do use power play because they are 99% of the time unsure of themselves and do so to concrete some form of courage to stand up to people like that. Sadly they're almost always armed and unstable, making the option of a physical retort a very stupid one. What her brother did was right, just take it. Wounds heal.

You have my sympathies and I hope you all recover from the ordeal in good time.

I think you're in for a rude awakening bud. I respect your enthusiasm about leaving the country and becoming a soldier, but heed my words: Your fantasies are just that, fantasies. Be a little more realistic, you mentioned it in the Ellen Page Coming Out thread, your views on the world and even your future career is not without warrant, but not without silly delusions either.

When you get "sticked" for speaking with an accent in Lower Manchester, we'll talk again.

Yeah, I don't understand that part either.

Maybe because the robbers were mentally unstable low life's?

You mentioned something about wanting blood, that reminded me of a incident that happened a couple days ago.

A colleague of my mothers was phoned frantically by her mother saying that her brother and step dad were involved in an attempted hijacking. Both were shot, and the only caught one of the guys on the scene.

They later found the other hijacker nearly beaten half to death, I'd say that's a punishment that these asshole who robbed your GF deserve. I have zero pity for criminals.

Insanity, you have my deepest sympathy for what has happened. It is good that everyone made it out alive, though with both physical and emotional scars. It's always very sad to hear that happen to someone. Good luck with getting everything back in order again.

I understand what you saying but I mean there are better opportunities there than here. I do get labeled a foreigner here because I don't look south african and got kicked out a bar because of that. But every where has bad places you just wouldn't go to. Except here even in the good areas you will get targeted. I mean here the police rape people or arrest you for no reason and take you valuables(happened to a few of my friends.)

Tsar, I think you need to have the bubble you live in busted. I am sorry to say that crime is all over the world, some places more than others. Whilst I lived in the UK I had the pleasure of being mugged, of HATING to walk alone at night in most areas, as well as having the shop that I worked at constantly robbed whilst we where there.

Here yes it isnt much better I agree, but so far I feel safer in the Cape than the UK. Not all places are evil and crime ridden. It is the world we live in, there is good and evil and stupidity,it is all over. Running away to other countries doesnt solve all problems, you just find a new set of them. So good luck to you with the army and travels, but your grass is greener idea is a pipe dream.

Insanity *huge hugs*

But I know people who have never been mugged in england. I am not leaving the country due to the crime. I am leaving to get away from my family and come on our crime rate is a lot higher than England's. I've been high jacked here, mugged I know a shit load of people in this country who have been victims of crime and thats including the cape. I mean here you can't even tell the real cops from the fake cops.

But your personal experience was shitty in the uk. I don't feel safe here at all and I am tired of it.

My parents owed a company here and it kept on getting robbed.

Sorry to hear dude.

Know its beating at dead horse but this kinda shit is one of the reasons I left, so I would never have to come home and find my family like that.

This happened to best friend over December. They tied him and his girlfriend up, ransacked the place, asked for pins to their cards, told them they would kill them if it was wrong, and got out. When my friend went away a day later to 'get away from it all', they came back. The pins were right, but cards canceled.

They came back to kill them. Thank God they were not there. They just ended up ripping the place apart.

Where as here I feel safe, I havent mugged or robbed (well except for a car radio and that was no loss). I have had family members mugged, hijacked, shot but they still live here, they still love it here. We all find our own places to call home, the UK with is "benefits" was fun, but it was never home. Good luck to you over there maybe you find what you are looking for.

But to be honest, I prefer it here, where if you walk past a group of 10yr olds you dont move to the other side of the road incase they jump you for the phone in your hand. I was more afraid of the kids there than anything else. You just didnt get onto a buss filled with kids - the one time I did, I saw them beating up an old lady. I stepped in and stopped them, only to get such a dressing down by their families and cops because I dared to slap them and grab them by the ear. After that incident I was harassed for weeks by the kids, this was in a small village away from the main cities. Where you would expect children to still have values.

True, we have violence here and crime also although statistically speaking you alot less likely to be murdered violently here than in SA, in 2012 England had under 600 homicides compared to 16259 in South Africa, that isn't a trivial difference.

The thing is in the UK you have places, like Brixton or Clapham, where you wouldn't and shouldn't walk alone at night but generally speaking its safer.

Similarly statistics show UK robbers wait until you leave your house before they rob it.

Agreed, but then again we both know we shouldnt debate this :P

I just want Tsar to realise that he might just be swopping one set of issues for another set. Like I said there is good parts and bad parts all over. Yes the type of crime here is more horrific, more mindless but I believe it has more to do with the people and their lack of education, respect and honour than anything else.

Oh for damn sure, he's going to be eating pie in a can for months when it hits him how expensive shit is here and until you get that first £££ paycheck everything is out of your price range.

Nobody should come here and expect an utopian society devoid of any crime.
