Sims 4 thoughts? Should the Sims Franchise continue?

The Sims have been around for as long as most can remember... but have they started killing the point of the game or should they continue?

'The Sims' (genre/franchise) is a life-simulator that is clearly loved by millions (yes, millions) around the world. Having said that - 'The Sims' (genre/franchise) seems to be changing its routes from an (open-world) life-sim' to a more character-focused sim', as I've read and heard. Although 'Maxis' claimed they'd only make a 'The Sims 5' if 'The Sims 4' sell good; I think they will make a '5'. The game has its popularity among the masses of gamers who like to play it, so, needless to say, I think they franchise will definitely continue.

To conclude:

I reckon there will be another installment, because I reckon '4' will sell good enough for 'Maxis' to consider making another 'The Sims' game.

This post made 'my eyes' (organs) bleed; I think I need a drink now.

They prob. will, I have the Sims 4, but it isn't as good (travel/options wise) as 2/3... although character customisation/quality of objects is awesome... Just think they will need to do a hellava lotta expansions to make it better...

I actually tasted the air quotes.

@OP, I haven't played Sims 4 yet so I'm not really in a position to comment, but looking at the previous incarnations, I think they will continue with the franchise after about 4 years of DLC releases. But Sims 5 should have some serious innovations or that will mark the end of the series, IMHO.
