Skyrim or Saints Row

Faced with a dilemma. I can only afford one of these on the xbox. Can't make up my mind which one to get. I loved Saints Row 2 and its crazy fun. I hated Oblivion. so it really should be a no-brainer. But on the other hand, I hated Saints Row 1 and loved Fallout 3.

so what do you guys reckon? Which is a better game ? Which one will depreciate faster and be available second hand on the cheap in a short while?

Skyrim. Value for money here is ridiculous. 50 hours in and I think I've barely done one third of the quests...

I'd say Saints Row. That game is SO much fun. I spent a whole hour just beating the living shit outta people. Got totally sidetracked looking at how beautiful the game is, having HUGE wars with the gangs in the street and doing side quests. The game is just amazing. It's by far the best Saints game ever! Felt like a kid playing that game :D

And there's so much to do! The production value is really cool and it's got that unique Saints style. Really see myself having fun with this game for a long time.

aarrrgghhh!!! :-( was hoping this thread would help make my decision easier, but its actually made it more difficult. There appear to be compelling reasons for either game warranting a purchase. but i think im leaning towards getting Skyrim now, as it will last 50+ hours. and will pickup Saints Row 3 second hand in a about a month or so when its going cheaper.

Sounds like a good choice, Id wager Skyrim will keep you busy for at least 100 hours & may even warrent a second playthrough.

but my problem is, i cannot remain focused on a game for more than about 10 hours. no matter how brilliant, i start to get sidetracked and a bit bored and looking forward to the next title.

Having said that, i managed to clock 50 hours on Mass Effect and about 80 hours on Knights of the Old Republic and probably 100 hours on Baldurs gate. So it seems like RPG's manage to break the bordom spell :-)

anybody see any 2nd hand copies of skyim on the cheap ? :-)

Fun thing about Skyrim, if you get bored of your current quest switch to another or just go wandering. Your guarantee to find something intresting.

Skyrim wont come down in price for a long time. It is an amazing game, its actually creepy. its like another world that actually exists somewhere. What it lacks though is humour which saints row has in spades. I am a huge fan of Bethesda's games as well as the Saint Row series and I also struggled with deciding between the two. I chose Skyrim. just get it, I promise you will not be dissapointed.

Saints Row3 will be half price by january anyway. then IM ALL OVER IT :D

Realistically, noone is going to play a *game for 100 hours. Besides if you're REALLY into it, dress up at night and do shit like that :p.

If only, I spent that amount of time on both Oblivion and Dragon Age Origins. I reckon Skyrim is going to best that by a fair margin. :o

Spent 100 hours in Oblivion
133 hours in Demon's Souls
Already played like 48 hours of Skyrim (without touching the main quest)
Almost 50 hours of Dark Souls.

Your argument, sir, is not valid.

Edit: Forgot about Dragon Age Origins (50 hours) Mass Effect 1 (30 - 40 hours) Mass Effect 2 (30+ Hours)

Agreed, argument totally invalid. I actually discovered (some of) my Oblivion savegames last night and added all the hours; it came to 276 hours and thats just the savegames I still have. Fallout New Vegas was about 150, Demon's Souls about 200. I could continue for a while ...

It's amazing value for money. On top of that, we'll be getting DLC and quests from the modding community. ukf

how does skyrim stack up against Dark Souls? I still need to get more traction in Dark Souls, but I put it down to play Batman and Uncharted 3, and now I am afraid when I go back I will not be able to get my rhythm going and will therefore get my ass handed to me, and will not have motivation to plough on

I wonder if i should i cut my Dark Souls losses and rather just invest time in Skyrim....

Cant really compare the two. Dark Souls is smaller game world, less quests and the time you spend will make you bleed for every minute. Skyrim is easier to get into and, depending on you disposition towards masochism, might offer you more enjoyment. But I would say they are both well worth the time.

Skyrim. This thread should have included a Poll. The magnitude by how far Skyrim would win is not done justice by purely posts.

I was also keen on Saint's Row, but given the choice between the two, I gladly pick Skyrim above it.
