Which basic tactics work best? What I mean by this.

I'll start first. I most enjoyed starting with Nord because you get frost resistance and most of the dragons I fought were frost dragons.
I almost only focused on one handed and heavy armour, my only magic was healing.
My favourite weapon was most DEFINITELY the mace of molag bal :)

I think this thread could be interesting for skyrim lovers

Damn, when I read the heading, I thought someone made a mod that turned skyrim into a turn based tactic game :o

My Skyrim is so heavily modded, the normal tactics doesn't really apply :p
But my first run was a WoodElf Assasin.
Naturally good with a bow and sneaking around. Animal control is also a plus.
100 Sneak with that dagger perk (no spoiling) = epic assassination :D

Doesn't really matter. Play as you want to play it. But the two handed heavy armor nord is very powerful.
As the previous post pointed out as well mine is so far from the vanilla its scary.

Almost noone plays vanilla anymore, mine is also modded out.Mostly with graphic mods and behavior mods.

Bandits with heavy armor in the front, mages and healers in the middle and archers around the sides trying to surround you is usually how bandits react in my game.Wolves also try to surround you in packs of 12+ and bears and sabers usually charge you and you are send flying.

Giants throw rocks at you if you get too close to their camp which can one-shot kill you.

Depends on gamestyle, proficiency etc.

I play Skyrim with roughly 60 mods installed, mainly focussing on Gameplay, beautification and realism overhauls.

Try out the Skyrim Redone mod, Character creation overhaul combined with Realistic needs and diseases and the epic Frostfall mod. Use that combo as a base, and work out a play style / character from there.
