Skyrim Thread

So far I've found standard dragons, Blood Dragons and Frost Dragons. And Alduin, of course. What level are you?

At the moment I'm level 12, 11 hours in despite writing 2 exams this week so I'm a bit behind (with studies), but wow is it worth it!

Money well spent thats for sure!

i REALLY dont like blood dragons... :/ and iv got an ENDLESS list of quests... plus I FOUND THE DARK BROTHERHOOD!! :D :D and the thieves guild.. :) have u guys noticed the third person view..? itz sooo much cooler in this one.. i love it

I stopped playing Oblivion after about 3hrs because I hated the 1st person view (only years later a friend told me you could go 3rd person view in it. :o)

I'm aching to play this game, but first need to finish some other games in my collection of games-I-bought-but-never-got-around-to-playing. :/

This is what i look like, basically the same dont have a screenshot of myself tho

I got the game working last night :)
I chose the Nord, and only got till the first playable scene before having to turn off the game. Oh well there is always tonight.
For some reason the game detected that it could play at ultra settings, I was very surprised by that :wtf:

It's not as hardware intensive as anticipated... no complaints from my side though, looks great to me and with the mods and texture packs on the way it's going to be a beauty. Then it will really test your PC's hardware.

Yeah don't know if I am too keen on that one, I quite like the fact that I can still run a latest game at full lol.
I usually turn shadows and aa down anyway though, so if the new textures etc come in and I can still have it running high enough with that stuff turned down/off then its all good anyway :)

My only, slight, let down is the combat controls. This could only be coz I am so use to Dark Souls more strategic approach to combat. The melee combat in Skyrim feels... it doesn't have the same impact feel as DS. :/

Don't use that much anymore.. Use frost voice.. And ur about to kill that horrible orphan caretaker lady... She's such a bad person... Remember to find the shout in the dark brotherhood sanctuary when u eventually get there...:)

Technically I've already Murdered someone, Mercenary I came across next to the road. He had cool armor so I killed him, took it and gave it to Lydia.

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOL, mchammer much?

Btw guys, lets do a little something, we all post to tinypic photobucket etc of your map in skyrim, we will then start to add all the little placemarkers in skyrim and hopefully have a completed list of places etc...

Bought a house in Whiterun but its a dump... how do I fill it with neat stuffz?

Just go talk to the guy you bought it from. He gives you a book and you can see what each upgrade does before choosing it.

Ah so its not like Fallout 3 where u got to buy stuff from that general goods store in megaton.

Thnx dude.

No comments on the Melee combat comment I made? Was hoping for a bit of a discussion about it or something.

My character is not what a planned but he is fookin powerful. Basically an Imperial Mage who specialises in the arts of destruction.
In one hand he has the power of Shock a la Star Wars Emperor Palpatine and in the other he has the power of self heal. So basically I'm an unstoppable storm cloud of death. When I really want to viciously abuse my foes I power both hands with the shock powers.

I found and killed a necromancer who's robe regenerates magika 75% faster than normal. So now I feel like I'm cheating. I can kill a dragon in about 2 minutes from 50 meters away and stand directly in its stream of fire as long as I keep the self heal spell going.
It all looks amazing when all that magic and fire is flying about, especially in 3rd person.

The melee is about what I expected, it's very lose and feedback isn't so great. It's no Dark Messiah or Dark Souls, but it's serviceable enough to be fun.

I mix magic and melee and having a lot of fun with it. :)

Not reading much (if at all) about bugs in this thread. Friend of mine has been playing it all weekend on the PC and just gave me an hour long rant about the hundreds of bugs in it.

Is he playing some other game? Have you found bugs?

There are some bug's, some are hilarious, but they in no way destroy the experience. At least thats the case for me so far.
