Skyrim Thread

Has anyone doon the Blood on the Ice quest in Winterhelm? I never did the quest, but I bought the house from the stewart but now I can't "move in" before I solve the stupid serial killer quest.

(Highlight to read, might contain spoilers)

I found the evidence inside the house and went to talk to the shopkeeper about the amulet, but now I don't know what to do next. The quest log just says to "follow the leads you found", but there is no waypoint marker. I know I have to talk to Viola or something, but I can't find her ANYWHERE. I went to her house on several occasions on different time during the day/night, but she's never there and I can't find her anywhere in the city. If anyone has/had the same issue (or if I'm just stupid), please let me know because it took me forever to get the 12 000 gold to buy the house and I've already (accidently) overwritten my savegame from before I bought it.
 
I actually found the serial killer, but I didn't know where to get the quest.

I found him by accident while, uhm, borrowing some stuffs while he was away, after I found his keys in his pocket.

LOL. I also know who it is, but I guess I can't do anything about it untill I talk to the Viola chick. I've read (and watched) multiple walkthroughs but they all just say go find her in town or at her house. I can't tell you how much time I've spent running around the entire town looking for her and how many times I've been to her house.
 
I think that if you find the serial killer before you actually get the quest, the serial killer becomes someone else. I also pickpocketed the keys and found a journal in his chest, clearly incriminating him, but then I picked up the quest after it, followed it, and then someone else got arrested and I never was given the option to present the journal I found. Probably some muck up in the Radiant Story system. Made a post about it earlier in this thread.
 
Nah, it's not a muckup. There's a second half to the quest that you should find a day or two afterwards, in Winterhold. And you spoiled it for me, Staple2. :(

EDIT: By find, I mean there's another murder.
 
Oh, well, you should be able to catch the original murderer if you found his journal before the first part of the quest. And sorry :)
 
Can't finish this quest, wasted another hour looking for Viola. No luck. I spent 12 000 gold and have nothing to show for it. :(

Will play with my other character for now. I hope this quest isn't broken ...

I will post where viola is a little later.. Wen I play again.. I have a ring i need to return to her house so she should be near to that..:) I'm studying right now.. But will let u know when I play..:) Will post a pic..:)

Thanks dude, but I've checked like 5 or 6 different youtube videos and she is always in a) the inn or, b) her house or c) just hanging around in town. I have wasted 2 hours last night and 1 hour just now looking for her in all those places. She is nowhere to be found. I don't know if my game glitched out or something, but she is not in Windhelm in my game. I have checked everywhere at different times during the day with no luck. I don't even care about the stupid quest, I just want to move into my house that I paid 12 000 gold for. I don't want to play from an earlier save game, because the last time I saved was like 4 hours (playing time) ago.
 
I absolutely adore the game and its probably the most fun I've had all year, even surpassing Witcher 2.
The one thing getting to me now are the bugs in game...and I'm noticing now that I am not the only one with this issue.

If you want some advice..Save a lot...There are some fucking annoying glitches that made me wanna smash my keyboard to pieces.

Most notable, I was on a mountain fighting a ghost of some sort (can't remember his name, lost my temper and rage quit..Haven't touched the game again) After fighting him for quite some time I got him down to his last bit of health. As I go for the killing blow, he blasts me off the mountain and dies, so I tumble to my death..main problem..It auto saved as I fell off the mountain..So what transpired after that, it would keep auto loading that part and drop me off the mountain.

Anyway Rant over...I'll play it again once they have released some fixes.
 
Why is there so few enemies :( You have this massive awesome world filled with the same enemies all over the place.
 
having lots of fun,i totally forgot about the storyline and have been hunting what ever i can to get leather for my smithing skill.

Yip, problem is that boss/thing was hard to beat and took quite a long time.(I don't get much time to game)
Bugs need to be resolved, and believe me that is just one of many that pissed me off today.
Still a great game and still a huge amount of fun, Just save a lot.

Seeing as this is out of your hands, cheat, just this once, enable god-mode till you finish falling then disable it.
 
I got the game yesterday :D Played about 2 hours. Awesomeness :D My dad won on the horses and asked me if I wanted anything. :D
