Skyrim Thread

I defeated my first giants last night. Had to use a bow and go where they couldn't. I liked the fact that they hide when they know they can't get me and I am using ranged weapons. Pretty impressive AI until I discovered that I could come out a bit and let them chase me, then go back and shoot while they go back to hide. I think 2 giants cost me about 50 arrows in the end lol

I started it about a week ago. Dark Elf. At present L12, so still early stages. At first I thought I would not like it (as Oblivion was not my cuppa tea) but as I got it for free from a friend I figured WTH.

And now...it's difficult to put it down. Truly awesome.

My wife also started her own campaign and she's also rocking it!

Yeah I didn't really go for Oblivion much either (more of a Gothic fanboi), but I am starting to be really impressed with Skyrim (currently level 19).
I will eventually get my gf hooked on it but for now Diablo 2 is doing that job.

I really cant get into this game... Steam Mods are the only fun thing to me. I cant get passed level 20 but overall a giant step. Cant wait for a MMO.

I decided to use the Nexus Mod Manager to make some 'adjustments' to the game. After much struggle, confusing and browsing and duplicate downloading, I eventually got my character to have the 'Triss Merigold' outfit. Looks so sexy on her :p

Also added some other mods which just had me LOL!

Some people just have crazy ideas.

A friend of mine once said something super deep about Skyrim... he said "It's as wide as an ocean, but as deep as a puddle." So true.

I've never managed to mod skyrim... always downloaded other mods and ended up bugging my game to the point where the texture pack gets mixed up.

try the nexusmodmanager, its quite failsafe.. be warned though.. donwload one mod at a time, it doesnt like queue system tbh.

There are thousands of mods already, from retextures to new armors and models to houses and flying boats. Listing them all is pointless.

In Steam, you can check out the workshop to get mods. I have gotten a couple of mods from the workshop, like Arrowsmith, but I found it annoying to look through since the steam browser is so slow.

Best place to look is Skyrim Nexus. Loads of mods, with both poster and user screenshots available. There are also forums available. You need to register to download some of the bigger mods though, IIRC.
You also Nexus Mod Manager, a tool from them which makes it easier to download and install mods if you don't want to do it manually.

I'm still checking the Nexus regularly, but I have not touched Skyrim in a While. I'm holding off till much later where I will wipe all my mods (currently installed about 8-9gb's) and do a fresh Skyrim and the latest mods for a new(ish) experience.
