SLI has no effect on performance

So I just discovered, after actually taking the time to investigate, that my setup performs EXACTLY the same whether SLI is enabled or not.
I have 2x MSI Geforce GTX 560TI cards (Twin Frozr II I think) and I used Hitman to check the benchmark. With SLI enabled or disabled, they both run at 34fps.

Is this right? Or am I somewhere missing the point of what SLI is supposed to do?

Ummm hold on what cpu do you have? Hitman is cpu bound. Did you run any other tests like heaven benchmark?

having used sli for a good couple of years using 6600gt's, 8800gt's and gtx460's so i can say it definately improves performance

but it is highly driver dependent.

Thanks... I'll try this as soon as I have a chance to restart my pc.

I've been reluctant to update my display drivers ever since I've had some major issues in March after updating to the latest drivers. At the end of the day, I had to revert to the previous drivers which is what I'm still using.
I have however now downloaded the latest drivers and will install sometime today.

Ok, done the above.
Heaven shows 32fps with SLI disabled and 60fps with SLI enabled. I guess choosing Hitman's benchmark wasn't a good idea.

However, even after the new drivers and after adding HMA.exe (Hitman's Executable) to the "Manage 3D Settings" on NVidia Control panel, I still only get 34fps... the same as with SLI disabled.

Any idea how to fix this? I'm guessing that if I can get this fixed, I can also get Batman fixed to run in DX11 mode.
