So just finished Breaking Bad...

...and wow! i sat on the couch afterwards for quite a while just reflecting on the entire series. the story arcs of the main characters, the shifting motivations, the ugliness of pride and greed, and so much more. brilliant!

this is probably the second best TV series I have ever watched (overtaken only by Game of Thrones). going to start Better Caul Saul, but dont think it can match BB.

Breaking Bad is one of the most well-written shows I have ever watched.

Netflix is currently showing Better Call Saul episode by episode which sucks as it is a Netflix Original, but I must say I'm already impressed. It's all based around Saul and his background, and after episode 1 you know it's gonna be a great show.

Everyone seems to love Breaking Bad. Unfortunately I haven't watched it yet. Will have to make an effort to get hold of Season 1 at least.

I watched it recently and was hooked. Ends off well so it's a must watch! As for Better Call Saul, I'll watch that when it's complete. :)

My Breaking Bad experienced was very mixed. I had such frustration at the stupid moves of the main characters that I nearly stopped watching. The middle season or two also had some real slumps in the pacing and almost became a chore. But the finale was one of the best ever and I felt some real closure. Sure, there are some questions of "what next" but I am very happy in the way it all ended. Kudos for the producers to stick it out and make the WHOLE story. How many shows are cancelled because the numbers were bad, even though the story and first season totally warranted a proper finish? Firefly, Almost Human, My Name Is Earl, Terra Nova, Angel etc...

I tend to avoid spin-offs as they tend to be inferior to the original show, yet even though you know that you still expect a lot only to be disappointed. Joey, for example, has one of my favourite Friends in it yet still managed to be well below the levels of Friends. With that being said, I am still amped to watch Better Call Saul

Not all shows get a deserving seasone finale. Take Arrested Development as an example. Season 3 "almost" ended until Netflix bought the IP and made a terrible last season. It was so bad that I couldn't even finish it and it tarnished many fond memories of the show.

"Hermano" :D :D :D

Dexter and Lost are prime examples of how a series can lose the plot. I am very happy with the way they wrapped up BB. and while i do agree that parts of the series were a little contrived and dicey, the overall package was superb. I am genuinely keen to do a BB marathon one weekend and rewatch all five seasons. and the final season was the best of the lot!

Solitude : don't judge it by the first few episodes. i watched the first episode about 3 times before finally committing to watch rest of season 1.

My wife cringed with the whole bath scene in the beginning and didn't want to watch it after that. She got hooked shortly after and we binged on it until it was done.

Another great show is Orange is the New Black. We finished both seasons in 2 weeks!

Very overrated show and I had had enough by a few eps into season 2. Funnily enough, I love Better Call Saul. Far better than BB ever was.

It's a pity I loved that show to bits too.

Anyong?

In all honesty I think you should have pushed on and watched the rest... Its not really fair to make a comment like that when you haven't even watched half the series...

I must admit it took a LOT to get me through season 1... I had heard so many good things about the series, but season 1 was a serious chore... I wasn't overly happy with the ending either... But it was one of the last things i expected...

As a whole I have to agree though its one of the best series around... The way they make you interact with all the characters and draw you into the decisions they make is incredible... I can remember actually feeling anxious about things that happened, and waiting for people to find out etc...

BB did get a little slow in the middle, but the last couple of seasons picked up again nicely, and it's rare that a show actually wraps up so well. I think they usually get dragged on way too long and the writers have to come up more and more ridiculous stuff just to keep a series alive, I like that BB seemed to have run it's course, so they had a big finale, and that was the end of it. Much better than fizzling out.

you have to give it more time thatn just a season and a bit. it really picks up the pace around Season 3.

same thing happened to me! I watched first episode 3 times before i decided to push on. And even the first season left me with a "meh" feeling. but i had to try and see what the hype was all about. and boy am i glad i stuck with it! :)

exactly! too many series stretch themselves on for too long. I love the fact that BB went out with a bang and not a whimper.
