Seriously I don't get you fanboys, I played Halo one and then got over it during the Flood level, but later decided to muscle on to see WTF was so epic about this game... to find an epic disappointment... nothing at all, so why do you love it? how could it spawn 2 sequels, 2 spin offs and a prequel? FFS Half Life (1) was better then Halo (1)

It was a big step for fps on the console at that time. I for one think it is a average shooter(I have halo 3) And found red faction more fun than halo. But People enjoy it and I have no problem with that.
Oh the multiplayer is very very fun. And that is what people enjoy the most. It ha a host of game modes and it can be very fun.

Man.. just for that? and the "epic story?"

Maybe we PC gamers are spoilt :D

I did not find the story very thrilling. But I am a half-life fan boy:D And I find the whole half-life story fun:D

I don't think much of Halo's story, but the campaign IS a lot of fun if you're playing in co-op, especially with four players. And the multiplayer's great.

Regardless, like just about every single other game released ever, it's not for everyone.

I don't see why people must question things about a game. I mean if you enjoy so be it and if you don't meh. I do enjoy halo 3 but I have played better games.

As I said, I wondered what the hype was about... thanks for the answers
BTW I have only played Halo 1 on PC, and played like 5-10 minutes of halo 2 on Xbox 360

Haaa that is your prob. On pc the game sucks. It is fun with a friend.

What so great about Gear of War, God of War, Uncharted, Mario, Zelda, Call of Duty or Battlefield? The fact that they all have fans, different people enjoy diffident things. The world would be a pretty boring place if we all love the same stuff.

For me personally its a welcome change to the usual battefield/cod/war type shooters that seem to dominate the market. Throw realism out the door and you can have a lot of fun with a game.

I agree with this statement. I also played Halo first on PC, and it was fun, but not mind blowing.

I actually bough Halo 3 on friday, my friend and I played through the first 3 levels on co-op and we got bored. However, the multiplayer was flipping awesome. I felt it was very much like Half Life, frantic and fun action :)

One of the best things about Halo multiplayer is the sheer number of modes and custom options available, especially if you're playing local or system link.

QFT.

Even 4 players on a Sofa, 2 of which had never held an xbox controller and it was still heaps of awesomeness.
