So who's getting Dark Souls?

I'm also still in the Undead Burg trying to get my soul level(currently 21) up before taking on Capra Demon.

Taking the Binoculars as my starting gift was a big fail lol.

Considering you can pick it up in the graveyard just off the Firlink shrine, yep I would say so plus how useful could it be? I use the zoom on my Bow to check distance.

There is some sort of one legged, 2 headed serpent thing down by the blacksmith close to the undead parish that fires off Magic lightning type bolts if you venture close. I need to take him down tonight as well as the Hellkite dragon since I am now over level 13, under which you cant do enough damage to kill it. (Wish i had know that before spending 4K souls on arrows to try and kill it :()

Yeah luckily there is a bonfire right near that serpent :).

Where did you pickup a bow? I don't like using the crossbow because you can't really aim with it.

Man I finally beat the Capra Demon! It was one of the most satisfying gaming moments of my life. :D

And that Ladies & Gentlemen is what Dark Souls is all about.

I took another crack at the Drake, no joy; still not doing enough damage. When it sticks it's head under it's wing it regens health basically voiding any damage I did, need a better bow. Beat that thing guarding the entrance to dark root forest with range attacks, was duelling with that hellbert wielding knight when I fell off a cliff. Calling it a night, can't wait for the weekend so I can spend 8 to 16 hours engrossed in Dark Souls.

The beauty of dark souls shone through last night. I'm still pretty low level (about lvl 10) and was about to tackle Taurus Demon. I decided to run back to Bonfire in Undead Burg, save and grind a little. Went up 3 more levels and spent them on DEX to be able to use BOW properly. made it infinitely easier to cross the small bridge from bonfire where zombies throw firebombs.

anyways, after clearing out the area and getting to Taurus demon, i walkted through and prompty got my ass handed to me :-( so i started again at the bonfire, breezed through until Taurus Demon, and then had a fantastically tense battle which I won! what a fantastic feeling of accomplishment

Anyone have any idea how big this game is? I'm nto that far, just busy fighting the Gargoyles.... was so close... will try them again tonight.

I have heard its about 40-60 hours in total? but thats all relative. I am taking things very slow and methodical so I may be playuing for a 100 hours :-)

The Capra Demon is just too much for me, I need to level up before taking him on. Trying to farm 20000 souls so I can open the farming spot in Darkroot Garden, almost had it but I lost 16 000 souls and have to start from scratch. :(

.

60+ hours per playthrough depending on skill. I spent 133 hours on 3 play throughs of Demon's Souls. This is the kind of game that just keeps giving.

He's a pain to beat that's for sure. Last night I managed to eventually take him down after 7 or 8 deaths
Spoiler: show
Key is to survive his first attack and immediately run up the stairs to the left. At the top is a narrow ledge that you can walk on. From there there dogs will reach you first, allowing you to kill them. Then all I did was wait for mister Capra up there with my shield up (drinking eastus flasks when I needed to) and he will follow you up there, but will fall down when he attacks you. Then just wait for him to move into a good drop attack position and take a chunk of his health off when you do so. Then run for your life back up there and do it all again. If you have firebombs then it will make this fight a lot easier. I didn't have any unfortunately, used them all in my previous beatings.
.

I think i was about level 17 or 18 when I took him on.

I'm actually now also on my way to Darkroot Garden. I just want to kill the electricity flinging boss on your way there first. Almost had him last night, but my impatience got me killed just before the final few blows...

I cant open that door in that tower which leads up to the Taures demon fight. I have the resident key that I bought from the Merchant but it still says "Locked", I know there is more to the Burg than what i've seen but I cant seem to find it.
