Think very carefully about it, imagine having to pay everyone who you didn't want to leak your private information, that line of thinking is madness.
Actually, that's exactly how you SHOULD think about it.
Your privacy is YOUR concern. YOUR problem.
That "madness" line of thinking is exactly what the internet needs!
People are way too eager to punch in their personal details, without thinking of the (possible) consequences.
For the record, it is exactly "madness" thinking that got me to use a virtual credit card for any and all online transactions. Said card has no credit whatsoever. It's quite literally a Debit-MasterCard.
If I wanna buy something online, I load the funds, and use the card. If someone gets that card's details - good on them, have fun with the 25c that's left in it!
I never give out my (real) physical address, or contact details that matter.
I have a special email account for internet services that require an email address - nice and away from the important business-only email address.
Not by a long shot am I suggesting everyone become privacy and security nazi's like myself;
But you have to ask yourself: Would THAT be such a terrible thing?
Bottomline: If you're not willing to pay someone to protect your security/privacy, maybe you shouldn't be using it all?
If they're not somehow charging you to do so, maybe they're not good enough at it?
