What radio stations, if any, do you guys listen to?

I'm in the unfortunate position where I'm almost always subjected to other people's choices in stations, and I can honestly say that I hate all of them. The music is sometimes bearable. But the presenters/DJ's are the most annoying people I've ever had the displeasure of listening too.

This is most noticeable in the mornings, when it seems like the stations have some kind of competition to see who can have the most annoying and obnoxious moron on air. Does anyone know what's up with that, and is there anyone that actually enjoys listening to those people? :eek:
 
I listen in the car to 5FM only because there is no better alternative other than my own music, and I am too lazy to put together a CD or put music on my iPod etc.

I also prefer Tuks FM as far as music is concerned, and their DJ's are a bit less annoying than most other stations, but unfortunately some of them do tend to act a bit childish at times, which I suppose is understandable considering they are mostly students.
 
yup also listen to Tuks FM and have to agree their afternoon show is better than their morning shows. i do quite enjoy garteh cliff in the mornings and Fresh in the afternoons. although every couple of months i do take a break from gareth as he does tend to get a bit much. cant stand 94.7 or any of the dj's there. they seem to always complain about something

dude be glad you don't get Bok Radio....

and you didn't have to experience the AFM noobs. semi-decent music, but the DJ's were terribad. most of them couldn't even read.

the only time I listen to the radio is in the morning on my way to work when I channel surf between 5FM (Gareth Cliff) and KFM (Ryan O'Connor). and only for the talkie bits, definitely not the music.

other than that my iPod provides the car with music :D

i have listen to them as well but they talk to much... i want to listen to music more than to ppl talking. also the adds on there a bit much. there is a local jewish radio station here in Joburg as well that plays decent music when they are on air. Chai FM(pronounced "ghai")

I find that the afternoon show (ballz radio) is too much talking for me, and mostly about sports, which isn't really my thing, but the station in general plays a better selection of music imo than the mainstream stations.

I often switch between them and Tuks fm. Otherwise, I usually listen to my iPod
 
LOL Malice, I agree, Bok radio is just scary . . .

I stopped listening to the radio about 5 months ago, I just can't listen to the crap on the radio these days. The music gives me headaches. So currently using my phone for music since my car radio scratches cds and I cant hook up an mp3 player (yes car radio is that old)
 
Used to listen to Tuks FM but they don't have any good DJ's there anymore. Music is mostly good as far as I can remember but I get very annoyed with the rockstar wannabes they have there nowadays.
I walk past their studio every morning on the way to my office and sometimes have an urge to run in there with a water canon.

So now the only radio I listen to is the complimentary breakfast in the car in the early morning and new music is explored on itunes.

i listen to 5FM in the Mornings, gareth cliff is a douche sometimes but he cracks me up. in the afternoons i listen to the music i have stored on my headunit
 
I listen to 5FM in the mornings, only if Gareth Cliff is talking and not playing music. If 5FM plays music, I listed to Slayer.

We need a combined radio amalgamation where Gareth cliff insults everyone, Darren Scott does the sport(and ONLY the sport) and the AFM Radio tunes play... that would be great!
 
Tuks, their presenters are good and they are one of the few stations that actually plays music vs talking about shit like that purple thing. However that man who does their breakfast show is annoying, he has an issue with everything and is so slow and boring. I need a breakfast host who is cheerful, not some dude as tired and lazy as I feel, he was energize me. Rob forbes was the best, I miss his bang bang brekkie
 
I actually like 94.7 Breakfast Xpress in the mornings. Throughout the day I'll listen to my stokkie or the music stored on my phone. And I never miss 5fm Ultimix at 6.
