South Africa's ADSL and Fibre prices: are we really behind the rest of the world?

Its a pity that the table mixes fiber and VDSL - kinda hides just how big the gap is.

e.g. Currently paying the equivalent of 700 ZAR for a 50 meg thats uncapped at night. No shaping or AUP either. Thats the bottom end one. In ZA that would get me like 4 meg uncapped copper or there abouts?

ZA seems to be catching up fast though.

Now I just wish 3g prices would also take a plunge. Paying R98 for 2 gigs :(
