Spud 2 - The Madness Continues

The last movie didn't quite have the look I was expecting, just not how I remembered my first year.

I don't think the aim of Spud was realism. The books get more and more farfetched as they go along. The last one was in parts completely ridiculous.

I enjoyed the books immensely, but the movie was a bit of a let down for me. It wasn't a bad movie and the acting was very good, but it didn't quite capture the essence of the book.

And was it just me, or were some of the scenes with the mermaid a bit... pedoish?

Movies will never capture the true image of the book they are based on, however i just loved the casting of the characters and when i re-read the books i have faces to put to character personalities.

I agree whole heartedly. The movie wasn't even that funny and the characters except John Cleese had little to no dialogue. They would mostly just sit in awkward silence.
I was expecting a crap ton more from Spuds dad too.

The mermaid works as a waitress at a coffee shop here in East London.
