Square-Enix announces Final Fantasy 10 remake for PS Vita - and PS3

The title says it all. One of the few well received bits of news during this morning's Sony TGS press conference, Square-Enix has announced that they'll bring the PS2 hit to the Vita and its big brother in remastered form. Details on exactly what this means were scarce, but we imagine it'll look prettier and prettier-er on the Vita and PS3, respectively.

*Crying*... Why don't they bring out on xbox aswell?
My most favourite game of all time... only game in a story to ever gripme adn kept me coming back till the end :(

That's not a bad idea either.

One thing though...SquareEnix can also be using FFVII as a trump card...think about it. If they do a FFVII remake, their sales will go THOUGH THE ROOF. There have been many rumours over the years about this remake and they always deny it into infinity. The magnitude of an announcement like that will easily make them MILLIONS.
 
Actually I'm quite stoked about this. I have the PS2 version that I cant play on my PS3. So an HD updated version with trophies? I say bring it on, I think FFX was fantastic. :D

Edit: BTW, I don't think this will be a remake, but rather a resolution update like all the other re-releases. So FFVII really wont apply to this type of scenario. That game will require a complete code re-write...

I've also still got my PS2 copy and slimline PS2 :).

FFX HD is definitely a day 1 purchase for me.
 
its probably just going to be an hd upscale with improved textures, 3d support and trophys like the god of war collection. this game still looks very good for a ten year old title. Im sure Square will also release this on the 360 via a very late announcement.
 
After putting 70+hrs into this I would so do it again in HD. :)

I hope if this goes well they will consider doing 12, mainly because I have it on PS2 but just can't bring myself to play it with the fuzzy gfx.

I put in well over 200 hours! :eek:

I spent a lot of time getting all the ultimate weapons. 99999 damage per hit is awesome. :D

i personally feel that FFx-2 should also be included cause all the hd remasters usually includes more than 1 game in the package eg, gow collection , tr trilogy etc.

There was quite a bit of backlash for FFX-2 since it was... well really really odd... (still very fun though)

Guess Square is just testing the water for this re-release and if it sells good enough the 2nd one could show up
 
Old Final Fantasy remakes would work ONLY if they don't use voice actors. Keep it written or they'll ruin the game.
