Stabbing happens over online game altercation

Thats just messed up. The frequency of things like this seems to be going up.
Looks like there might just be something behind those age restrictions for games after all.

A teenager has stabbed his buddy after a spat broke out, presumably over the online game they were playing together.

The California residents were each playing a multiplayer game in their respective homes, when things got heated in the online space, causing the 17-year old to head over to his mates house and continue his combo, unfortunately it was no longer in the game.

Presuming is the same as assuming and assuming is the mother of all fuck ups.

Without knowing exactly what the argument was about speculation is possible, the one dude could have slept with the other dudes sister. Also I would be more concerned with the 17 year old with a gun.

For all we know it was two gang banging drug pushes playing games while high on their stash. I'd be surprised if there wasn't at least one stabbing incident that night. :)

There must be at least 80-million people who play video games in the world, if you take bundled Wii-Sports sales into account. How many of those people become violent or die "while playing games?" Less than 20?

Methinks a reality check is in order before the alarms go off.

Yeah, we really should confiscate everyones car as well.

How does a 17-year old get hold of a gun, to go and shoot at his neighbour before stabbing him???

The gun owner should be seriously penalized for this...

It's the states, why are surprised someone had a gun:confused:

He's 17... if it's his dad's gun, his dad should be locking this away safely.

It's because of idiots like this that makes it difficult for the rest of us who want guns, to get them.

You've got it the wrong way around, it's because of people that want guns that idiots like this have them.

LOL...

I see your reality but I substitute it with my own :D

There are vigorous tests and applications to go through before one can own a firearm, be it for self defense, sport shooting or a combination of the above. Having a gun does not make it more dangerous for you, it makes it more dangerous for the thug that wants to try and rape and murder my family.

If my negligence causes my son to shoot my neighbour, I should be punished for making this accessible for my son. As a gun owner, this was in my training and "conditions" to owning a gun, and I need to take full responsibility for this.

I take it you guys are those flower-in-your-hair, nudist, harp-playing hippies who protest legal gun ownership? :D (Whilst wasting thousands of rounds shooting innocent Iraqis in video games...)

Not in the USA.

Not according to statistics.

NewScientist:
people who carried guns were 4.5 times as likely to be shot and 4.2 times as likely to get killed compared with unarmed citizens. When the team looked at shootings in which victims had a chance to defend themselves, their odds of getting shot were even higher.

You don't have to be a hippie to realise that fewer guns equals fewer incidents of gun violence. I'm not against access to guns per say I just no it's better if their availability is severely limited.

Fixed the above. If I have a gun, it makes it more dangerous for me when I pull it yes, and also for the guys trying to rob / rape / kill me or my family. I'd rather go down kicking! (Also, I am a much better shot than your average gangstaaarrr :) )

In SA guns licenses are not easy to get, only a handful of owners can get a license legally, it's the illegal guns on the street committing all the crimes. Limiting legal licenses will have some impact on gun violence, but not as much as you may hope.
