Stacking

I'm getting pretty miffed about the prevalence of stacking in MP FPS.

Seems many (most?) are OK with it as long as they're on the winning side. WTF happened to a well deserved win after a strongly contested fight?

Its across all the games I tried thus far as well.

The servers are filled with people insisting that you can't use weapon X because its noob...but then they're OK with stacking the 10 experienced guys against 10 noobs.

Anyway...just ranting. Any thoughts / opinions etc welcome. Bonus points if you know of a game not affected (aka unicorn).

I know how you feel man and I notice stacking on a daily basis in FPS games, I usually use "auto-assign" in FPS games.
Usually people will join a team when they see a very experienced player in that particular team as it would mean the chances of winning is better.

Sadly, there's nothing one can do about it unless there's a way to force randomization after every map change, or even the ability not to select a team can work. But will it be ever implemented in any game, ever? Probably not.

I have sucked it up by now, and just accept the fact there will always be stackers.

I also auto-assign, and have even changed mid-way through a map (if possible in the game) if I see players quitting the loosing team. Most times it can be frustrating, but the rare occasions when the underdog side wins it is very satisfying. Guess some people just can't stand the thought of being on the loosing side.

Ha! Thought this was a thread about the game called "Stacking". Guess you wont need help with that then :)

Yeah, it's partly why I don't play Battlefield 4 anymore. I always auto-assign, but it's no fun for either side if 10 clan members join the same team and end up pushing everyone else into base-raping positions.

I love joining the side with disadvantage... i'm pretty good at FPS games so for me the win is so much more satisfying when i carry my team kicking and screaming to the win :D but yeah.. i find stacking stupid.. i understand that you like winning but wheres the fun in making things easy.

I don think its about winning , but rather about having a fun time . When there is that much unbalance it just kills the game .
I have experienced this several times, and after a 5 month break from BF4 I came back to my first match being just like this .

Played some Blops 3 beta yesterday (First CoD I've played since CoD4). Their lobby mechanism seems to help on this as its essentially random.

Feels super laggy though - both on input and the netcode.
