Ron Burgundy
Actor Anton Yelchin, known for his roles in "Star Trek" and "Alpha Dog," was killed early Sunday morning after getting pinned by his own car ... TMZ has learned.

Yelchin's friends became alarmed because he was supposed to meet them hours earlier for a rehearsal. They went to his San Fernando Valley home at around 1 AM and found him pinned between his car and a brick mailbox, which was attached to a security gate.

Law enforcement tells us the engine was running when his body was discovered, and the car was in neutral. The driveway was on a fairly steep incline. It's unclear why he got out of the car.

Cops do not suspect foul play.

Yelchin was 27.

ah damn. thats a shame, he was the perfect Chekov and I liked him in Odd Thomas....amongst other movies...I real shame....

This is so ironic, in the first book of Odd Thomas, he talks about a boy who could see "bodachs" (shadowy spirit creatures who appear only during times of death and disaster), most ppl cant see them, invisible to us. The boy told Odd Thomas and the "bodachs" heard it, they killed him by letting a truck hit him, not sure whether it was moving as in being driven or the brakes just "failed"

The last Odd Thomas book was one of the emotional books I have ever read, I honestly had to wipe away a tear...

Sorry, above sounds stupid, but I read half the books, saw the movie and from then on Odd took on the apperance of Anton. When listening to the audiobooks, I'd see Anton's face a Odd Thomas....

That's some really sad news. RIP Anton, gone way too soon. :(
VirtualForce, I never made the same connection to Odd that you did, but I know exactly what you're saying about the end of Saint Odd, and your thoughts hit me right in the feels. Let's hope Anton has a Stormy waiting for him on the other side too.

I am going to miss him as an actor, he was brilliant in Odd Thomas, VirtualForce, I also read the books and weirdly when I read them, I pictured someone close to what the actor looked like.

But I have to admit I am tired of all these young actors dying now.
