Star Wars Battlefront - Official Thread

I cant get in, black screen on start up then app crash , updated drivers and reinstalled Origin.
 
Few rounds in and I can definitely say there is a bit of a matchmaking issue in the beta. Ended in a dominating team for 2 rounds, where we crushed the enemy team with little to no problem. Then while I'm busy sorting out my new load out, I joined a different team, and we got nailed so hard, and we got nailed constantly. Ut it is a beta, so hopefully the full release will be better
 
Played 5 round so far, and I crashed twice. So the game stability, atleast for me, is not all that good.

The game is enjoyable though, really fast paced. Don't think I will pre-order it though, I'll still wait and see. BF4 memories just after release are still too fresh

I got a crash as well playing now. Was weird. But things like that can be expected from a beta. Hopefully the final game won't have those kind of issues. I do think that launch will have problems though. All multiplayer games start out crap.

On another note, I won my first Walker assault as the Rebels!! Woo hoo!!! Was damn close, but that last AT-AT fell when one of the guys entangled it's legs. It felt just like the movie. It was single handedly the most awesome gaming moment for me this year.

That sucks man. I had similar issues last night but was lucky enough that reinstalling origin fixed it for me. I even read suggestions about moving the game to another drive or exiting teamviewer. So far it seems the most common fix is to uninstall origin and reinstall it. Hope you can get it sorted in time. The game is actually pretty fun :)
 
played it loved it the atmosphere sound affect and graphics are spot on just don't know if its worth the money though. Are there South African servers on the beta the lag while not spoiling the experience it's still pretty irritating. Are you guys gonna buy it?

got it to work using older version of origin , go figure lol
 
I'm falling in love with this game, in a hard way. Yes, there are many issues with the beta, but after many rounds now, I am well and truly madly in love with this game.

Yeah and their Battlefield Friends Series is so cool.

Got a good amount of Starwars gameplay this weekend, mostly good, some glitches here and there, some games as a little lag, but mostly good. Yesterday I couldn't get on to EA for 10 min or so. Got to get some time in the fighters, haven't had the chance to tow cable a AT-AT yet though.

Played a few times as Darth and Luke, slightly prefer Luke. Movement is not a smooth as a Jedi should be they need to tweak the heroes.
A lot of fun blocking blaster fire.

Beta's been extended an extra day too.
 
I think SWBF is the Marmite of the gaming world at the moment; you either love it or absolutely hate it. Been reading some comments and threads on the internet about the game, and the reception goes right down the middle. I fall in the camp of absolutely loving the game. The beta has confirmed my pre-order

I've played in almost all the vehicles now, and I've confirmed that I suck in the fighters. I flew last night around like a moron in a Tie-Fighter before I crashed into the side of the mountain. Epic fail to say the least.

Also got a few wins in as the Rebels on the Hoth map. Our team actually was able to eliminate both AT-AT's before the third point. Was epic. Our team really had some great team work.
 
Co-Op point of view, specifically for us, this game is amazing!

Split screen really helps and makes it hours of fun on the couch with a mate!

Very excited for the release. We had loads of fun recording it and Ritz is not a Star Wars fan but has been won over by the game!
 
I enjoyed the game and maps (even though walker assault was a huge disadvantage if you were on the wrong team), but I would only buy the game if there were local servers.
 
So, according to some tweets from the developers, it seems the locked content in the beta at the moment is only a small part of what's to come in the full game. One of the issues I had with the game content is that it looked just way too little, but now it seems that Dice has locked away some additional modes and features as to not spoil it for the launch. I really glad to hear that

Also, they did say that the additional time they are giving for the beta will result in some networking issues as they are stress testing their servers. I could see that, as I was getting huge lag in some of the games. Hopefully this beta will help them test out everything and when they launch, it will be a bit more stable.
 
I started DLding my beta this morning i might give this a try tonight. any pointers you guys can give me so long and are there specific servers to play on or what?

There's no server browser, so you will automatically be connected to a server with available spaces in it. Seems most servers I've connected to were EU servers, and lag only affected my gameplay last night as they are stressing the servers.
