Star Wars : Knights of the old Republic

Star Wars KotoR is one of my favourite games. Ever. Also one of the deepest RPG's I've played without getting bored. This might be because I am a massive Star Wars fan.

The most important part about this game though, was the story line. And dat plot twist :eek:
Pure win and awesome.

Although the sequel played as well as the first one, it never gained as much praise, partly because it was a rush cash in on the series.

In the time that I owned the game I have finished it twice (one evil and one good playthrough) and both times it felt fresh and unique. Playing Mass Effect 1-3 just keeps reminding me of Kotor (probably because Kaidan Alenko and Carth Onasi is voiced by the same person, Raphael Sbarge)

This game definitely deserved it's game of the year moniker and all the awards that it gained.
A true gem in my library, sitting snugly next to my copy of mass effect 3. Gottat keep the family going, eh?;)
 
Absolutely love this game! Played it through again with my son last year. And he loved it too! Score 1 for Dad! :-D And now we're both playing Mass Effect 3 as well. Well, he's played ME3 through twice already and I'm on my first go.
 
I have not replayed any game as many times as i have KoToR1.
What an icredible game... and the best moment I've ever experienced in gaming was the reveal of the plot twist near the end.

Just on the point you make about Mass Effect playing so much like KoToR, that's probably cos BioWare made the original KoToR and then used alot of the same ideas when crafting the ME universe. Basically, they stole the SW world and made it their own without needing to pay royalties to Lucas. Sneaky. But we love it still.
 
Yes...I loved both games! One of my fav memories about this game. I was pretty leveled up and was running around in a space ship. As I enter through one door I'm confronted by a whole squad of storm troopers. Using my Force Throw I just leveled the whole squad and proceede to cut the 2 left standing with my Saber. Felt so awesome and empowering. :-)
