Star Wars: The Old Republic gets smuggler class

Having had a look at the cinematic trailer for SW:TOR , I have to admit that the Bounty hunter seems to be a FORMIDABLE opponent!

I'm keen to see what the smuggler turns out as...

It's going to take A LOT of work from their side to ensure that not everyone who joins just rolls jedi/sith padawans. Unless ofcourse they make it the same as in KOTOR 2 where the pilot/handmaiden/cleric/mandalorian/zabrak crew members could be trained in the ways of the force/dark side at a certain level...

Are they gonna have a "Yoda" race? Imagine a Yoda bounty hunter with no force powers. Cane in one hand, blaster in the other.

SW:TOR Gameplay video

My apologies for the bump, but I found this 20minute (bandwidth intensive) video showing the smuggler/ bounty hunter and sith warrior gameplay as well as world views and in-game dialogues etc.

It's very promising and if that's what the final product looks like then I'm seriously keen to get going on it!

I'm pretty confident that this is the game that will cure my WoW addiction :p
It's really looking good, & I can't wait to see how it plays.

Has anyone been invited to the beta btw? I remember there was a hefty NDA involved with the application, but I'm pretty sure it allowed for you to at least give (very) broad impressions & say if you enjoyed it or not....

Well, with any luck, they'll go the way of SW: Galaxies and the Jump to Lightspeed expansion at some point, and introduce player controlled ships. Given the timeline you're not going to see Tie fighters though :p

i know.... but you know what i mean. i want to pilot for sith and blow shit up :D

Did you guys watch that vid?

Kinda cool how the smuggler is the only class to make use of cover fire.

This game looks more Guild Wars MMO based ... i.e. rather Co-op in a NPC environment rather than full on MMO. Which I actually don't mind...

Oh is it? That's rather disappointing :(

Instancing was fun in Guild Wars, but I'm pretty sick of it now to be honest...hence me being so excited for Guild Wars 2.
