Starcraft 2 to have no LAN option

Blizzard just recently confirmed that there will be no LAN (local area networking) game mode in StarCraft 2. This was confirmed in a interview with Rob Pardo, senior VP of game design at Blizzard Entertainment. Rob Pardo stated:

“we don’t have any plans to support LAN,” he said and clarified “we will not support it.” The only multiplayer available will be on Battle.net.

This is an epic fail. Why would I want to buy this game now?

Even though I don't think anything of this game, I agree that it's a massive fail on Blizzards part and might even lead to a boycott or something similar ....... you don't take away something so important for gamers and not expect some sort of backlash

I think they could have done it to camp down on piracy, as not many ppl will buy this for singleplayer only, 99% of starcraftplayers buy and play it for Multiplayer.

By Making it Battle.net only, you are forced to have a legal copy of the game.

This blows. Yet another blow for PC gaming. The pirates have struck again. Somehow this just dropped of my have to have list. So sad.
