Starcraft 2

I still play practice league, lol, because I am kak. Then I get players doing a 5 minute rush on me, tournament style shite.... I give them a piece of my mind :)

That is fairly easy to stop. Just takes some practice (which you seem to get a lot of).. and scouting. Loads and loads of scouting. :)

Have you seen dAppolo's Bronze to Master league vids?

No, I haven't... Will check it out...

I have checked quite a few vids, just seems that I still get it wrong each time. Like the other day, I played really well, built the base defense barracks block thing, then the dude sent 2 reapers into my base and killed all my SCVs, and my marines were too slow to get them... next thing a cloaked banshee came and took out my marines before I could scanner sweep him and when I did, I only had marauders left who couldn't retaliate, en at this time there were more banshees. I can beat hard AI though..... but that's pretty much the same attack each time.

What makes his different is that up till Plat/Diamond, he only focuses on Macro and Reading the game. This is how I moved from Bronze to Gold. Nothing fancy. :)
Even with Day[9]'s guides, I found that you spend too much time worrying about a million things, and not actually playing. By reading the game.. you're just playing accordingly. Which is a lot more fun than constantly worrying about timings.

Heh - just don't have the time to invest in playing online - wish I did - it changes the whole experience. Biggest issue for me is having uninterrupted time....

Ah well - one day when I retire.

hahaha uninterrupted time ............... never happening for me :P i once stated for next hour i am playing sc2 then ill do xyz didnt happen. :) now i just say no leave me alone :P

Loving the comments on player feedback. I've been called a "noob"plenty, but I have thick skin.

Thanks for the tuition, foozball :)

lol. Dirty pig? Hahahaha. What did you do to the poor lad?

It was a PvP game in bronze league. When I scouted his base I noticed he was doing something really weird: he built his gateway in his natural, then built his cybernetics core exactly where his nexus should go. I figured there is no way he is going to expand from that so I just built a pylon right in his natural to see what happens. He sent his first zealot to kill the pylon, but in the mean time I had sent a stalker and a zealot to his base, so while he was focusing on killing the pylon, my zealot and stalker focused on his zealot. After that I killed the pylon powering his gateway and cybernetics core, and a stalker I think. Not much he could do after that. Think I warped in a couple more Zealots and it was over.

edit: Just realised it fits my avatar on here :p

@eugene, and this is why it pays to be scouting and have an enquiring mind about what your opponent is up to. This probably still my biggest weakness :o

my biggest reason for not scouting i forget to do stuff in my base

That happens to me a lot. I focus on looking around in the other guy's base, then when I get back to mine I haven't made anything except probes and a pylon. :wtf:

WOW! What a great match on TSL with Life vs Curious. It had me on the edge of my seat for all 7 games.
ZvsZ is just so aggressive.. well worth my almost spent cap. :p

Haha, I do the same, I scout then forget to build stuff :)

I guess I am just unable to micro and macro at the same time :) / :(

Starcraft's hyper competitiveness is addictive. :(
I've tried some other games, but nothing is remotely as hard and allows me to obsess much about how I'm going to play.
Once you go Blizzard, you're never going back? lol

So, I'll dream up some basic strats and start crawling up the ladder again.
