Haven't played seriously in a long time, so I fired up the ladder and just started playing. (I'm mid Gold, was high Gold when I took a break)
I got my @ss handed to me by high silver, one bronze and almost every gold player. Even after watching dApollo's Zerg Tutorials. (None of them even played well...but still better than me)

Then again, Day[9] did suggest that if you haven't played in a while, just mess about and have fun on the ladder until you get back into the swing of things.

That is a big issue. A lot of the casters talk about that. The key is apparently to find a way to have fun. (Even if you lose)
So, I just 8 pool everyone :) It's exciting and somewhat fun.

We'll need your character code too. Mine is MetalSoup #351. Anyone is welcome to add me, only in bronze league though, so easy fodder for someone who wants to try new builds or whatever.
 
I was lucky enough to win a HotS key, almost finished with the download. I'm not a very good SC2 player myself, turtle way too much, will play against some AI first before I attempt an online game :D

Almost forgot, I must still download the God of War Ascension mp beta too, let me fire that one up as well :)
