Starcraft 2

I had time for just one game tonight. So I went 4v4, as I thought I'd ladder a bit this season. Lo and behold in my one and only game I get the king of cheese (or so I think he is) doing a Canon Rush on one of the allies. By the time he was spotted, he had pylons and canons in play for 2 of the 4 in our alliance.

Needless to say that I was devastated. :(
 
Been playing some more in matchmaking. Qualified in all of the disciplines but will probably stick to 1v1 and 4v4.

Got taught a few lessons in the 1v1 games today. A Terran player parked a factory in my backyard and sent in a few widow mines which cleaned up all my workers (Protoss). Took too long to figure out what the heck was happening. By the time they were all gone, I had been so badly set back that I had insufficient resources to build up an army.

The other was simply sending in vulture bikes (Terran) to sort me (Zerg). First it was a bunker which I easily sorted, but I had little answer to the vultures. My lings weren't quick enough.

I live and learn :)
 
So tonight's activities came down to two games. Both 4v4. The first one was painful because no took any decisive action and one of our team must gone for a long walk off a short plank. So that was a painful loss.

The second one was epic. Almost an hour of titles for tat across the map. Both tabs were almost took the lead at various points, but somehow both just held in.

I almost threw in the towel when I lost two outlying bases. But had enough minerals to rebuild bases. That kept me in the game. Kept massing Hydras. Took ages before we managed to take out a player. But when one of the the fellas bowed out the rest followed ten minutes later. All I can say was "gg" :)

Sounds interesting that second game. Wish i had more time to play.
 
Played 2 4v4 games tonight. Both happened to be Protoss despite going random.

First game : my build up and strategy was altogether wrong. Too slow and defence wasn't in place. In both games I opted to go air.

First game I was quickly overrun and raced my workers out of trouble and tried to restart. Trouble was that I had no defence. I was overrun again. By now one of the other players had left and because I had no workers I left the game. (I later learnt that the remaining two players both Terrans knocked out the opposition. Effectively they win a 2v4. Woot!)

The second game was 2 Protoss & 2 Zerg versus the opposition. The Zerg allies initially harassed the opposition while Protoss went to air. We were quite fortunate and had time to get enough in the air to slowly take control of the map and overwhelm the others. "gg" came quickly :)
 
Guys, can anyone tell me whats with the constant "data streaming"? I've installed WoL after years of not playing and the damn thing keeps streaming data even when play campaign. I was expecting it to get everything it needs from that ~11gb patch i had to download.

nope should not stream the whole time.
 
Hi guys, does anyone know what Pro Players (zerg), offer replay packs with the subscription? Catz says on his stream that he does, but on twitch there's no mention of it. And I can't find out if TLO, Life or JaeDaong does either.
 
Oh Starcraft, thy mistress. Oh how you have violated my sense of man-being in the DGL.. :(

I haven't touched the game since my last DGL match, which I lost to some ****. Can't really be mad at him, I had a very bad week and to then to try and be in shape for some ZvZ.. didn't end well.

But as much as I want to hang up my keyboard, I feel hopelessly lost without Starcraft in my life.

Are there any active Starcraft Clan players on myGaming?

Trying to get an achievement in Harder 4v4. Need to do it with Zerg. And that isn't my best. Any ideas on a strategy verses a particular race?
 
yea.... i have been neglecting my SC2 as of late ><... My week days are mostly packed with work stuff or so tired after fitness. Even so weekends dont even know what that is when im on the bike in the morning and fucked afterwords :D.... I moved to zerg but then moved house and new job :D so no real time to get back into it. kinda sad but thats just how it is atm. I know a few SC2 players but idk seams many players are jamming other games.
 
Seems that quite a few SC2 players move between games. Not many solely play just SC2.

z1oc, good to see you are still around. Lots on your plate at the mo, so gaming ain't a priority now. Are you training (with your bike) for something specific or is it just for fitness?
 
Mainly fitness atm but training for the next 7 MTB cycling races as well as training for trail running, maybe a warrior race. But the big one at the end of the year is an adventure race in Swaziland. Apart of that just casual gaming now and then
 
na... sometimes i hate waking up in the morning and just want to sit and do nothing. But the 1st few weeks was hard over time gets easier. If you just do some fitness once a week you should be fine
