StarCraft II most pirated game of the year

Edit sounded silly:p

Intellect laws are really lame. Even the people who make the games, music and what not don't get a say on how much they will charge for it. Only he publishers and record labels can say how much they will charge it and even if the band or the developer wants it to be free(unless they are the publisher)the publisher will go no no.

Oh, for fuck's sake. The publisher PAID FOR THE ALBUM TO BE RECORDED, OR THE GAME TO BE DEVELOPED. If they don't charge for it, they don't get their money back. Much less turn a profit. WHY WOULD ANYBODY WANT TO LOSE MILLIONS AND MILLIONS OF DOLLARS?

Jesus fucking Christ, some of the stuff I read on the internet makes me think state enforced sterilisation is the only solution. And really, Raven Gold should just be put against a wall and shot. You are so phenomenally stupid, it blows my mind.

I remain, as ever, convinced that the only people who'd dismiss intellectual property as a worthless concept are the same people who couldn't come up with anything of intellectual worth if they tried.

Well the whole piracy issue seems to be revolving around digital media. Why does digital information get all this special treatment? If I made a copy of a painting, and presented as a copy, not taking any credit for anything other than the effort to make that copy, why don't I get in trouble for that? But when I make a copy of a game, and present as a copy, not taking any credit for anything other than the effort to make that copy, why do I get in trouble? Because the digital copy is far more perfect than the painted copy?

It comes down to this again, the original intention of Intellectual property laws were to prevent people taking credit for what they thought up, protecting an intangible idea, from an intangible concept.

I agree with the enforced sterilization & firing squad idea. :p

Are you fucking serious? Of course you'd get in trouble.

Copyright, cretin.

It's like you just don't think.

Also, honestly. How can you justify taking something that's cost someone millions of dollars to produce, paying nothing for it, and pretending that's okay? You're a parasite, Raven Gold.

The only reason it cost millions of dollars to produce was because of a bunch of unnecessary extras. A person could write down those same lines of code for no more cost than the pens and paper to write it on. Practicality of that being ignored, obviously. But the point is, if it comes from the body, it's worth something from the body. If it comes from the mind, it's worth something from the mind.

I will pay R540 for the DVD, and I will pay good praises for what was on that DVD.

Thanks for saving me the effort of calling you a fucking moron. You do such a great job of it all by yourself.

If exlusivebooks didn't have it on special for R430 I probably wouldn't of bothered with it.

260 000 is a way smaller number than I expected. Means pirates are actually for once the minority at 20%. Unlike MW2.

We can't all be statists like you. If every one is out there for them selves then there is no hope for the human race.

Azimuth, don't bother with these two. They obviously don't work. And even if they did they would work for free. Cause since their "skills" are an intellectual property it should be shared freely...

Statists? o_O

You mean like greedy, selfish people who just take whatever they want without giving anything back?

And when have I stated I pirated something. I forgot that statists don't let people have opinions.

I'm a webdesighner. I charge for the physical effort I put into the writing the webcode. The webcode itself belongs to everyone. Anybody can do whatever the hell they like with the knowledge of that code, aslong as they recognise that they didn't think up that code all by themselves. Those were allways the true purposes of Intelectual Property laws, to preserve truth, not wealth. And this is where I support Tsar, greed has corrupted what used to be a noble rule for the preservation of truth into another tool for the pockets of liars cheats.

I'm not accusing you of pirating anything. I'm showing that your statement - obviously intended to mean something else entirely - applies more readily to pirates than anyone else.

And I've no idea what you mean by "statists". Hence my asking "Statists?".

Finally, I'm not refusing anyone else's right to opinions. But I will point out where you're very, very wrong.

A statist would be a person like stalin, hitler and Obama.

So game developers aren't allowed to charge for developing games? Because, like, that's what publishers are paying for. Just by the way.

That's because you didn't write HTML, roflcopter, and because HTML isn't a licensed language. If you wanted to develop something using Flash, for example, you'd have to buy the production application and tool suite from Adobe. After all, they've invested all the time and money in developing the platform.

BUT I SUPPOSE YOU JUST PIRATED FLASH, LOL.

Actually, I have a very hard time believing you've ever actually done any real work. Links to sites, please?

IRONY.

I'm sure you have absolutely no idea whatsoever what statism actually is. How about looking shit up before looking stupid (start here)? Honestly, Tsar, you're better than this. And equating Stalin, Hitler, and Obama? Who's doing your thinking for you these days - Raven Gold?

Sooo... If I were to translate the Da Vinci Code into Klingon I could take full credit for writing it and sell it as my own work just because it's not a licensed language?

Um. No, Raven Gold. Because you didn't write the Da Vinci Code. Honestly, I think arguing with a brick wall would be more intellectually stimulating.

You make me sigh. So according to your argument a person that has written a story and is now charging people for his book should do it for free since he didn't event stories, paper, ink, printing etc?

A fucking ridiculous argument you are making sir.
