Steam Account Hijackings

Guys/girls be careful there seems to be a wave of account hijackings occurring just before the Festive season.

Had again 3 friends that account got hijacked.

What they do is they take a friends hijacked account and give you a link to free steam games but its not its a link to get your details.

Sure it might be that sometimes places gives away freegames but rather google it than to click on a link.

I got sent a link once. Some random person to steamingfreegames, or something along those lines.

At the moment I've got a few unknowns in my invites pending list.

Its kind of a general rule of the internet: Always be wary, people are phishing for your account details for everything. Triple check the URL of the site you are visiting when typing in login details.

I agree with this. I also had my account stolen like this once (very stupid, but I blame the fact that I was gekuier ). Luckily I got it back, but I always ignore these links.

Surprisingly enough, I'd say the majority of people that inhabit the interwebz are un-evolved pond scum, so trust noone.
