Steam game gifting & trading :)

I think james should put someguidlines how to handle them.

I kicked the ones that you guys said is inactive.

Well, a problem has arisen. If we weren't doing give-aways via the group, then it's clearly "the more the merrier". Originally it was only people who actually wanted to be part of the group who would request an invite in the first place.

Now that there are free games on offer, people come out of the woodwork.

I think the best we can do is insist that someone has a MyGaming forum account before they are allowed in the Steam group - they should only be added if the request is picked up via the Steam Group request forum. We probably shouldn't actively advertise that fact, as I'm sure there are guys on SteamGifts that go around joining whatever groups they can, and invite all their mates as well.

I can't dictate how members handle their give-away, so it's up to the gift sponsor to decide on whether or not they think the winner is worthy.

My personal view on that is, if I have personally sponsored a game for MyGaming forum members (Steam Group members) then I would want it to go to someone who is an active part of the community, and not just there to leech the free games. Unfortunately this can quickly devolve into personal politics.

From the Steam Group side of things, it's not something MyGaming can actively manage in an official capacity, and it is in fact owned by OmegaFenix who created it in the early days of MyGaming. It will have to remain a community driven and managed point of interaction.

Waco and I currently serve as some sort of moderator - perhaps we could add another trustworthy moderator or two based on nominations here?

Also, someone will need to get in touch with OmegaFenix and request that he adjust the group permissions so that officers can also adjust group permissions, such as who can approve new members, etc (it goes Owner, Officer, Moderator, Member). Currently I cannot adjust group permissions; not sure what access Waco has.

I'm doing another giveaway! (for some reason my other one is only ending tomorrow, I thought that I selected Friday but appearently I didn't. New giveaway is HERE (or click my sig - begins soon and ends at about midnight)

The older one for those that still haven't entered is HERE and ends when it ends :D (about one day apparently)

xyz123 won the pirates of the blackcove - not gonna award it simply since the person has been on the forum since 02/07/13 last time here was 04/07/13 and has 0 posts - so I suspect this is someone who is making more than one account to enter more times. . . .

Hi. Yes I'm a new member and not active on forum. I understand that you don't want me in the group in this situtation. But I don't have any other account. If you gave this reason to reroll, this is wrong. You can say "this member is not a group member anymore". It's ok. But I have only one account, if you would say I'm creating accounts to enter giveaways more, this won't be true.

Not all of us post that much although we active on the site.

That's fine, but there are some people entering that don't post at all, or who don't even have accounts here. These giveaways (or mine at least) are for people who contribute to the community, not for random people who just want some freebies.

Woohoo thanks to nebula I actually won something on steam gifts. I will tell you guys how the game is in about a week from now (unfortunatly away for a week from tomorrow morning).

Okay thanks; I need him to give feedback so I can start my next competition :P Got Dungeon Defenders + all DLC to give away.

His lucky day as well it seems, since he snuck in for the Xbox 360 win.

On another note, I am HornetZA on SteamGifts, since people were wondering. Should have used my Steam handle but I didn't think that far ahead :S

Thanks James. Luck is smiling on me today. I confirmed on steam gifts, please confirm this when you can :)
