Howzit guys,

So I just opened up Steam this morning and I wanted to visit the store but for some reason it's not allowing me in?!

I click in the Store button up top but then it always redirects me to the community tab :wtf:?! Every other tab works fine except for the store one, is anyone else having this problem? Or is it just me?

Thanks

Happens to me sometimes. Is it asking you to log in? Log in on the community tab and try again.

Yeah bro, and then it even ask me to verify that I am me because I'm logging in with a new computer?! Even though everything was working fine yesterday... Anyway I logged it and tried and nada...

Same happens to me. You just need to exit Steam and relog. It seems to do this often.
The link could just be a little broken. Try logging outta steam and then logging back in :)

Tried that it still didn't work?! Odd...

Here is the crazy thing though, as I was on contact with a pal over Steam I went offline due to maintenance for a few secs, then when I was logged in again everything works properly now... Maybe an update just came a bit late for me? Dunno, but thanks for the answers guys! I'll keep these suggestions in mind in case this happens again :)!

I think thats steam guard. It asks me to do that also, just check your email and enter n the code.

Hehe, reminds me of the time that the steam browser didn't allow me to click on links.
It was during the treasure hunt... pure torture. :P

reinstall pc - steam issues?

hey guys
i had to reinstall my pc - cheer.

i got cod black ops and mw2, and dawn of war2 as well... how best to go about re-installing without having to download 23492834934657843 gb?

i really want to play some mw2 (especially after a crap day at work)... but i don't want to run up the gigage bill... any bright ideas?

Depends... Do you have the original steam files still? If so install Steam. Let the downloads start for those games. Close steam. Replace the files in the steamapps folder i.e. "Steam\steamapps\<user name here>" with the old files. Start steam again. Watch as you "download" a few hundred MBs per second. Then choose to verify each game to ensure it "downloaded" correctly. It may ask to download x amount of files that failed to verify. Barring that I suggest you try to get someone in your city willing to let you have the steam backup files. Hope this is useful.

My secret is that I never uninstall/reinstall Steam.
When i format my PC i simply keep the Steam Folder in tact. After reformat is done I simply start the Steam.exe file and whalla everything happy. It automatically reinstalls the Steam Service and just keeps on working.

just my 5c :)
