Steam Sale - Winter 2014 - Your purchases ?

Eh I've been busy with a game on and off for the last two years or so now. I've been so busy with work though that I've been neglecting it horribly. 2015 is the year of getting it done. :)

I've been incubating an idea for a game for nigh on 10 years now and even once attempted to write so code to get it done. But work and family eat up 98% of my time and the last 2% I reserve fot gaming.

I'll get around to building my game someday though. Should launch a Kickstarter campaign so I can do it during work hours. :D

Sorry for slight derail. Will be quick.

I've been itching to get into some kind of game dev. Started learning Blender about a month ago, following an older CG Cookie tutorial. Love it! So, in future, might be able to help you with modeling if you want. (I really want to push through with this and not leave it half way.) I've been thinking of getting into Unity.

Busy with the Kara tutorial atm

end of derailment.

While waiting for Divinity to go down, I bought one game so far:

$5.99 Shadowrun: Dragonfall - Director's Cut

Hehe we should start our own thread. I used Modo ages ago but never had my own license. So I've been using Blender this last year and I just never really got used to it. However I know Unity very well. So let me know if you need any help with that. :)

Oh man, that's awesome! More SA devs are always a good thing ;)

If it's not a secret, what genre is it in?

With a combination of purchases for myself and game [-]gifts[/-] giveaways, I'm currently sitting on $78.38.

You only realise how scary the amount is once you calculate it. :wtf:

Just added Pinball FX2 - Plants vs. Zombiesâ„¢ and Ms. Splosion Man Tables

Now only missing the ones not on sale.

Also officially out of Steam wallet cash, now I have to stop.

Finally. Divinity @ -33%. Got it with the DLCs for $33.50. Looking at its sale history, I seriously doubt it will go for any less at this time. So I'm happy and also done. This plus my backlog with some pretty awesomely rated games, will last me well into 2015. Plus taking into consideration new games also being released next year.

Although Divinity is a great game, I'd say hold off on playing it. They're releasing a major content update early next year that will improve a lot of stuff. It's a long game, although I don't think it has much re-playability. If it was me, I'd wait until the new patch.

So, I see Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is on sale. I've been on a bit of an RPG spat lately with Skyrim, Oblivion, Dragon Age: Origins and the Mass Effect trilogy, so is KoR worth it?

I saw Divinity go on sale and just knew there would be happy people in this thread :)

I'm keen on Kingdom of Amalur, but reckon I shall have to skip it, as I've already spent more than I had planned :(

I went ahead and bought KoR... Now I'll never have time for anything again. My holiday sale (not only Steam) list includes:
- Mass Effect Trilogy (3 games)
- C&C Ultimate Collection (17 games)
- StarCraft II (WoL + HotS)
- Far Cry 2
- TES: Oblivion
- Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning

If any of you bought KoR here is a little something interesting.

In Steam you get a CD Key that can be used in Origin as well. So you can have the game in both or give it to someone else if you so wish. I did the latter.

Picked up Deadlight this morning - just checked out the trailer and bought it immediately

Got Brothers, Dust, and XCOM bundle over the XMas weekend. Figured I should stop playing my 'friends copy' of XCOM and get my own.
