Steam Sale - Winter 2014 - Your purchases ?

Either we got to the ass-end of the sale, or I have way to many games cause for the past 2 days there is nothing in da list that goes "Oooh where did I hide the CC"

Guess I should not complain, they saving me money.

Well with the new year I'm sure there's some resolutions about budgeting and better spending going around :D

I was actually considering picking it up. It's actually a top notch budgeting application, if you're into that sorta thing.

Had YNAB for two years already. It even has a smartphone app and everything syncs with dropbox. It can also accept imports from csv, excel or quickbook files and more. I'm not sure about other banks but with FNB you can export your account transaction history to all those formats that YNAB can then import. All in all it's a terrific piece of budgeting and accounting software. I'm currently also using it for a small business.

It's even better if you use it with their budgeting method, and not just as a logbook.

I have a question then. Once paid for, are all subsequent updates and releases included or will it be an annual thing like most others?

It's been almost a week since my last purchase :wtf:

But I shouldn't complain. I'm checking the site at 8AM and 8PM every day though for those flash sales.

Only the minor releases. It's in version 4.x now and all future 4.xx versions are included. No version 5 has been mentioned though, so for the foreseeable future v4 will stay.

What's the deal with the FINAL FANTASY XIII installment?

I heard good things, but I've never played a single FF game. Is it recommended to get it or not?

I actually got it during the last sale. Been using it for a year now.

It's already stopped me from spending on the sale this year.

I believe when they release version 5 current version 4 owners will get a discount.

i have used YNAB for a while, but eventually it fell away due to the constant "manual" nature of entry input. I much prefer https://www.22seven.com/

they are owned by Old Mutual and its FREE! give it a try

I think the philosophy behind YNAB is slightly different.

Decided to go for Metal Gear Rising Revengeance and Saints Row 4. I was hoping Lords of the Fallen would be in the encore sale, but alas.

I checked out the franchise sales that are on due to a game in the franchise being in the encore sale. Luckily I still had Morrowind on my wishlist.

Final Tally:

Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance
Legend of Grimrock
Binding of Isaac: Rebirth
Dark Souls II (In preparation of next years DX11 patch :D)

All in all not too crazy. :)
