If you like survival games (i know there have been a lot of them lately) then you should check out Stranded Deep

Its just pure survival, no zombies or aliens or monsters. The trailers look pretty good, just need to wait till it releases later today for some of the reviews.

"Take the role of a plane crash survivor stranded somewhere in the Pacific Ocean. Experience terrifying encounters both above and below an endless environment. Come face to face with some of the most life threatening scenarios that will result in a different experience each time you play.

Scavenge. Discover. Survive.
---

Infinite Procedurally-generated World - Explore Pacific islands, reefs, and bottomless ocean trenches filled with detailed biomes.
No two worlds are the same, even share your world seed!
Dynamic Weather and Day-Night Cycle - Struggle to navigate stormy seas or enjoy basking with a coconut on a sunny afternoon.
Unique Physically-based Crafting System - Harvest resources to create equipment by combining them together in the physical world - no crafting slots!
Unique Physically-based Building System - Settle on an island and construct a shelter or venture the seas with your own built raft.
Detailed Survival Aspects and Interaction - Manage your vitals of hunger, thirst, blood, and health against the harshness of mother nature.
Random Loot and Collectables - Search sunken shipwrecks and islands for interesting and rare equipment.
Hunting and fishing - Spear small animals in the shallows or risk the depths with a spear gun in search of larger meals. Starve an island of resources or maintain and manage its growth.

The things we want and things we know you want!

Dealing with bugs -A lot of effort has been put into making sure your Stranded Deep experience is as bug free as possible, however the game is in an Early Access stage of development, so there will be bugs. We will be doing our best to squish them.
Performance - Optimizing performance is an important ongoing process that will continue through the Early Access period.
Island and Terrain Variety - Creating more unique biomes and biome parameters for different procedural generations.
More Wildlife - Incorporating more fish and shark species and more interesting island wildlife like birds, snakes and lizards.
An End-game Scenario - Making it possible to complete a series of optional tasks and progress through the world in an attempt to be rescued.
Co-operative Gameplay - Where you can band together as a team of misfits and ration your supplies or eliminate each other one by one.
Multiplayer - Fun multiplayer game modes like raft wars, fishing challenges, rescue objectives, island vs island, etc.
Improved User Interface - All of the in-game UI is temporary and will be replaced with a more fitting theme.

Looks very interesting. See from the discussion threads "The Early Access price for Stranded Deep will be $14.99 USD" - will most likely take a chance on it.

Reminds me of another Early Access survival title (mentioned on the forum somewhere recently) - The Long Dark

Thanks, will look into this. Already looks better than H1Z1.

I think I might actually get this. I like the fact there's no zombies and shit. Actually looking forward to it, most survival games are kinda meh for me. But I'm actually anticipating this.

Yeah - there's no (the typical) post-apocalyptic theme/scenario. Just basic survival, from the 30 seconds I cared to watch.:D

Yea im not a fan of the whole early access thing which plagues a lot of these games, especially survival games. To be honest the devs probably just release it saying its early access so when there are a bunch of bugs found they just say "well its early access"

Remember when we could just try the demo first....

game looks great, might get it when its out of early player beta testing, but I've never been a fan of early access (one or two exceptions). To me a game is like a story or adventure, I don't want to replay something broken halfway through and struggle with something that might be a bug or just something I'm struggling with.
But the game sure does look awesome.

One Early Access I am enjoying is Wreckfest (Next Car Game), just destroying cars is a great stress releaver.

Castaway: The Video Game

*Tom Hanks sold separately*

I always hoped for a Johnny Castaway game. Alas, it never happened afaik. I remember seeing it on a PC in a shop window one evening, with Wipeout and Ultima Online boxes next to the PC. Back then shops could leave stuff like that running through the night...

Not really. The devs release it on early access so they can have access to the funds necessary to actually develop the game. Of course there will be a lot of bugs in a game that's still in alpha or beta.

Well I'm quite enjoying it. Relaxing and gorgeous graphics. Can actually get quite tense when you need to start diving into deep water and getting surrounded by three Tiger sharks.

You knobs, dont you know anything about surviving on an island?
First, stay away from any pillars of smoke moving through the jungle. Leave weird numbered PC monitors alone, this isnt the time to check up on pornhub. There should be a stash of rum buried under some coconut trees, this is for medicinal use only...at first.
Build a hammock and roof from big coconut branches/leaves.

Might as well toy with and get rid of flareguns, they are NEVER going to be of use to get someone to your location, they will always be too far off.

Dont trust any girl that suddenly arrives, no matter how little they are wearing or how much they want to seduce you. ITS A TRAP.
Rather get a ball of some sport and make it your friend. Company is important!

Make fire with flare gun, keep it going.

Start your own civilization, (weird girl that arrived out of nowhere can come in handy here, cept if you are going to build battlebots, which would be awesome) take over the world.

Well, thats just me...

Watched a couple of game play vids for this and it does look pretty interesting but not sure its worth the $15 asking price if I'm honest.
Early access is the bane of the gaming industry (Along with Ubisoft).

10/10 agree

It looks interesting, but there are just so many survival games where you become stranded and there is just you and some enemies.

As was mentioned on PCGamer, I'd love a graphically pleasing game that revolves around surviving against the elements. Maybe a multiplayer game where you can assist other players.

Is this made by the same people who made The forest or is the intro just very similar.. other than that the game looks pretty cool.. I doubt its going to have any replay-ability though

I haven't played the Forest and I don't intend to. The game just doesn't appeal to me. But a lot of people say they are similar. I quite enjoy this though and I think it has huge potential, and looks fantastic. Of course it's only early days but I am looking forward to seeing the development of this.
