Strike Vector, one game I wish was big in South Africa

Game is currently on sale for $5.99 on the Steam store page, that means it finally got it's population spike it needed. Only problem is the latency, although playable even with 300ms due to the netcode, it would be nice to play it with low latency for once.

The game does allow you to host your own servers too, there's even instruction under the Steam forums.

We are not getting Titanfall local server etc so why not give Strike Vector :) a chance instead?

The top review tells me not to bother.

Don't let the big red square in the top left of this review fool you into being defensive. I LOVE this game, probably more than any of you reading this review. That being said let's talk about the one, ONE problem with this perfect game.

If it's dead internationally, and there is no singleplayer, I don't see any point in even looking at it.
 
The original post by hideinlight was why I posted, want to see whether we can get more players. I know the servers are dead, read the reviews. But for $3 its a small risk to take. Perhaps (but unlikely, I know) we can get some players to get the game.
 
Don't trust reviews from players incapable of spending 1 hour on a game. It's a dogfight game and you control a ship, not a humanoid with generic FPS controls. After the first hour people really start getting the hang of it and they just get better and better.

Also game far from dead, there always a server with players in EU during peak and off peak.

You can basically take a concurrent number and multiply it by 20, that gives you the amount of different players playing each day.
Atm there's like 220 people online.
 
I also picked it up due to the fact that one can host your own server for it. So, I'll see if I can get round to hosting a server in the next few days on my VPS :)
