Studying again from next year....

So I've decided to bite the bullet and start studying again from next year. I plan on doing a National Diploma in IT through UNISA. It's a 3 year course (if you pass everything first time) and looks to be flippen expensive - more than R40,000 I would say over the 3 year period.

Have any of you maybe done this course? NDINL is the course code and it seems pretty decent. I started working when I matriculated 10 years ago and only did International IT certifications. Unfortunately in our short-sighted country, those certifications mean absolutely NOTHING - so a National Tertiary qualification is a must, especially in my current company if I plan on advancing.

Your thoughts?

GO For it. Thinking of Doing the same this side. I remember my parents forking out 15K in 1999 for my PC Engineering at Damelin :|

Can't tell you much regarding the course itself, but one handy piece of advice - register as early as humanly possible. If you leave it until January (even if registrations are open until March) you're going to put yourself in a fairly good position to get screwed over. The fact that UNISA now allows every Tom, Dick, Harry and his dog to register means they can't cope with the flood and some registrations (like mine) end up not being processed.

Good luck.

Im keen to go back and do more, think I would go to Business Management or Marketing rather than an IT focused degree though.

This will be my last formal IT qualification. After this one I will be looking into other fields like management or Marketing as well because all of my personality assessments pointed that I need to be in a creative environment - so IT and Management may not be the BEST things for me - but I still love IT.
