Stuff that peeves me on Bad Company 2 - online play

So I have a rather nice list of stuff that irritates the hell out of me when playing online:

  • Every man and his dog is a sniper. No matter what map we're playing. They're all sniping.
  • People get into choppers only to fly to a point on the map and eject. Bye bye chopper.
  • Medics are the worst. Some of them never drop medic packs unless it's to heal themselves.
  • Other medics cheat by shooting team mates and then dropping medpacks in front of them to get heal scores. I'm sure this should be a bann'able offense? It's the same as stat-padding.
  • A lot of people, especially snipers, run to the back of bases or near enemy flags, not to capture or destroy them, but to spawn camp.
  • Most people using the UAV are useless but insist on using it the whole game not giving anyone else a chance.
  • People don't understand that if you're in the chopper's spawn area you're queuing for it. They run up to you and if you don't get away they simply TK you.

These are only a FEW issues that I've picked up with the multiplayer on this game. It's kinda sad.
 
Sounds like most/all of those issues would be from people who aren't used to playing BF2 and don't know the setup.

But yeah, as an avid BF2 player I've only played about an hour of BC2 ... not really feeling it hey.
 
You need to add that few people actually understand their class functions and a lot of people are simply running around shooting anything that moves. With this game, teamwork is essential, but all I've seen so far are people trying to up their stats, nothing more.
Would love to actually play with a squad who has their sht together.

I've experienced it only a few times where I'd join a squad that sticks together and you absolutely OWN. It's a very fun game when you play as a team but it happens so little that it's hardly worth mentioning. Also, I think the reason that takes away from the experience is the fact that VOIP in-game is broken. I don't understand why they're not even bothering to fix it.

True, I've played only once where a squad did what was required of them. Basically, I've stopped bothering really.
As for the VOIP - I don't get it either.
 
Neo come join us on the hardcore servers these guys dont come in there and they dont pull that stuff ...of course they do pull other stuff like defibing a team mate ...nade rain and blah but its better than the other complaints ....

These are things you cant escape all you can do is get even and collect these guys taggs cause they never move from a spot and they dont learn so if I find these guys I go knife em over and over again ...in fact maby about 60 % of my knife kills are from these spawn rapers

I only play on the Hardcore servers! lol I find playing on the normal server too difficult (ironic?) What's your nick on BC2? I'll add you as a friend, although that system seems to be up to sh1t as well.
 
Squad work was essential in BF2: Project Reality. None of these Rambo okes going around in there. I still think the COD / TF2 crowd are buggering up the BC2 game play somewhat. I'm yet to try hardcore servers though...
 
Hardcore is much better, but the rambo element is there as well. Some evenings I actually HAVE to Rambo because my squad is simply to busy sniping. 3 snipers and 1 assault (me) in a supposed "squad". lol. Such a joke. I have seen entire games in rush mode ending in less than 15 minutes because the other team only had snipers and couldn't attack or defend properly. Some people just don't learn.

But the MOST annoying thing is the whole "shoot a teamie and then heal him" tactic. Those people should be banned.
 
The game is heavily suited to sniping, and in HC mode, if you have the M95 then sniping is really easy as the entire body pretty much counts as a headshot. This is probably more realistic though, as I don't think you need to hit someone in the head with a weapon like that in RL to kill them.

I have to be honest here, I love sniping in BC2, but don't do it all the time.

One of my gripes is team mates road-killing you. There should be some sort of penalty. It's happened maybe 5 times, and not once did I get a "soz."

I agree with that cause I have been that teamie that has been shot more than one time ....My nick is Venom~
Be awesome to play with some of you guys that seem to know how to play like a Squad in my opinion a squad should have one of each class.
I have maxed Assault and Recon and am now working on medic and engineer..

I played BF2142 alot and you can tell from players styles who has and who is coming from COD background ..I think a persons approach to the game defines how they play ..you either play to win or Play to Improve your stats the second being pointless if you dont have team mates that like you or if you loose the round.
 
Yip! Roadkilling is an issue. Then again, I've roadkilled someone because they blatantly ran in front of me to try and be "funny". Guess the joke was on them, or maybe even 'over' them :)
 
It looks like there are enough guys in this thread to organise a good squad. We should arrange a time and server and team up.

Tinman your good at organizing stuff set the time and place and well be there.
 
getting hit with a doos dood (tk in afrikaans vir die wat wonder) when you shot some oke a teamie was trying to knife but keeps failing.

and assault okes who don't drop ammo crates...

those are my only gripes with BC2. otherwise it's very fun
 
As long as it's on a Friday or over the weekend I'll be there...except this Saturday. It's mah bachelors :)
 
Also HATE the damn camping snipers, nothing makes me happier than taking their dogtags. :p It's the most annoying thing when you play squad deathmatch and all 3 the other guys on your squad are snipers.

Guys who spawn rape and stupid people who just want to get kills also irritate the crap out of me.
 
I LOVE my sniper kit in most games ... but I don't sit and camp. A combat sniper can work wonders.

I loved knifing / pistoling as a sniper in BF2, because it took much longer for a squad to realize you're not on their side with your gillie suit on.
 
Hey, what you all on about snipers for?

I snipe about 90% of the time :p However, that being said:

1. I get more Kills if we actually claim the base and move up (Rush) I only play rush servers. (Thus I do try and claim M-coms if it seems like no one else is trying too.)
2. When Assault claims an M-com who do you think is the guy doing nothing but Headshot the defenders trying to defuse it?

Sniping has a place in BFBC2, but you need a good sniper to compliment your team. My priority is taking out enemy snipers, then defend M-coms and lastly attack M-coms if no one else is doing it.

Not to blow my own horn but I'm pretty good at sniping in BFBC2 :p
