Subaru WRX Becoming a seperate model from the Impreza Line

For as long as it's been around, the Subaru WRX hasn't really been about aesthetics. It's the kind of car where once you get behind the wheel and start driving, the way it looks on the outside becomes irrelevant. That's good because most WRX-es have ended up looking like Corollas with hood scoops and absurd wings. The Subaru WRX Concept aims to change all that.

If the cues from the Subaru WRX Concept carry over to the production version, we finally have a WRX that looks as great as it will probably drive. I think it beats the outgoing car in many ways. First of all, it looks like it was designed from the ground up to be a fierce rally car, not just an Impreza with a bodykit. (That's probably because it was — rumor has it the next WRX will become its own animal, separate from the Impreza line)

The bottom back looks too much like the Ferrari 458 Italia just with the exhausts on the sides instead of the middle. However...the front with that scoop and grills looks panty dropping sweetass!

Really wish we could have semi-slicks here too those wheels look hot!

Strangely enough pictures of cars do nothing for me. In fact, even the cars themselves. They merely serve as a means of transport for me and having one that mimics a rally car has little real life valid purpose.

Just expressing a different, and seemingly minority, opinion :)

What is the point in this, just a chip on your shoulder asking for kak.

Love the new car, looks great but I just don't know if I trust the brand. Last race at kylami a lot of the guys there were saying the car isn't built to race anymore (coming from various bridgestone retailers like supaquick and a former race driver) and you could see it with the touring cars.
Still heres to hoping it works and im left eating my words.

Spy pics of the new WRX have already surfaced on the net and it takes little to no queues from this concept car. In short: the new WRX will look NOTHIN like this concept. Sorry.

Yeah I don't know what Subaru was trying to attempt with this concept model. Sure, they've shown us what they CAN do (and let's me honest here, the concept model shown here isn't so far fetched that it was never supposed to create expectations on production models). The spy pics of the production model WRX (http://www.motorauthority.com/news/1083564_2014-subaru-wrx-sti-spy-shots) shows that it looks nearly identical to the out-going model, but more importantly, lacks almost all of the awesome design queues being showcased by the concept model.

If the production model looked anything like the concept model shown here, I would have traded my car in on a new WRX in a heart-beat. Sadly, I've been let down by what went into the production model.

As a side note, my favorite features on the concept model are the neon calipers and exhaust tail-pipe inserts. It looks fantastic :)
