Superbru 2014

There's some merit in him returning, but he should be seen more as a coach for younger locks.

It might be a blessing in disguise for our young locks i don't see him as a starting player but more a bench warmer to help the youngins

But last season he was literally the coach..

I think we've struggle with at least the front 5, with Strauss and Bismark being our only hope in the ruck atm, and at the Bulls level it was hopeless. But how desperate a measure should we go to here? I think this is one too far.

So what do you guys think about Matfield coming out of retirement?

I think it's terrible in the last world cup he was slow and cautious. He was old and knew he was easy to injure so I played like he was on glass and was more of liability to the team, to bring him back will just be of the same cautious slow play. We need a young guy who can still take a hit and recover from it, we need someone willing to charge forward with power not care.

All we are doing is holding young guys back from getting experience and when we stop flogging the 15 legendary horses we will realise we have nobody to pull the team forward and we will be stuck in a hole. We need to rotate players, release players once they fall off their peak and pull in new players who can grow into the position with some guys who can carry a little slack each.

I agree.

In my opinion Matfield should just stay a coach. I mean, he's older than me! He was definitely a good player but we've got some really good young players coming through. Rather build new legends than resurrect old ones.

Dnt get me wrong iam a moerse Bulls fan and Matfield one of my fav players but just hope it is a blessing and not a dis advantage for us

Thing is they don't want Matfield to play for the boks again i think he's more going to play in a grooming capacity for the young locks at the bulls i don't see him as a starting player this year but playing from the bench.

It will be good for any young lock to play beside Matfield and get valuable insight from him. we have amazing young locks in SA but still very green and the experience can help them a lot. (yes i'm a bulls fan and i don't think i'm always right)

I agree with all last 3 comments but like i said a young player can benefit more from playing along side a seasoned vet like matfield than just being coached by him and in the long run i think it might be good for the bulls with 4 star locks in the pipelines (i'm not a huge Flip van der Merwe fan)

Who knows he might just surprise us :p

yeah but luckily we get 10 transfers the next week :)

But boys watch those transfers and always make sure of team selections up until 2 hours before the lockout

So there goes one flanker i was looking forward to using Brussow out for 6 weeks and it seems Aplon is going to play french rugby as well after the season ends

Is this the one where you pick your team of 15 and score points based on their performance?

Im keen on a fantasy league, but normally do superbru and not to keen on doing more than one...

Im in for the Superbru Super 15!

I actually cant believe they bringing Matfield back... He did well as the couch, and i dont think he is capable of standing up to the best in the world anymore... I think he should be able to guide younger players off the field... No need for him to take away from valuable game time they could be gaining...

The pool is getting quite big now. I think this PS4 compo has really come at the right time. :) I think this may be the biggest our Superbru pool has ever been.

Hmmm.... 33 in Superrugby.
No worries. I kick all the asses.
