Support for murder-accused Paralympian Oscar Pistorius continued on the last lap of his trial on Friday.

Stuck on the back of a bus stop bench outside the High Court in Pretoria was a bundle of green and yellow balloons.

"Oscar Pistorius, you will always be our hero," was written on a poster next to them.

It was unclear who had placed the balloons and poster there.

What an outrage! An epic fail for democracy and no justice for the Steenkamps. Only 6 years! I can get more for rape or armed robbery or falsifying my number plates to avoid e-tolls.

Proof yet again that money talks. When you are rich and famous and have a bit of influence, the justice system does not apply to you. Been shown time and time again.

I was gonna go on about how your reply is overly emotional, until I read the articles just now. It is actually an outrage that, despite getting 5 years for culpable homicide and subsequently being convicted of murder, his sentence has only been extended by a single year, and that he's eligbible for parole in 2.
