Tablets and all things related

I have just ordered a Samsung tablet (P3100 Espresso to be exact) and am looking for some games and other apps to put it through its paces. I have never used android os so this will be quite something for me. I was going to go for a Huawei Mediapad but well a tablet is meant to last so thought I would rather go with something that has more oomph in it.
What tablets does everyone else have, any recommendations on what is really good out there? What are the keyboards like for the tablet, anyone had any experience with them. Autopage have a cover with a built in keyboard for R549, am definitely interested in getting that, will just have to wait and see what the touchscreen keypad is like with it.
Anybody know of any decent apps and games?

Since there doesn't seem to be any thread on tablets here and because of how popular they are becoming maybe this could be stickied?

My absolute favourite app is not a game but tapatalk. Makes it so easy to browse forums on my phone.

Also take a look at XDA-Developers. If u are into dev and absolute customizations of your tab :)

A good addictive game is subway surfers kept me busy for a while

What are you planning to do with your tablet? Unless it's a work thing there isn't really a reason to buy a physical keyboard.

Well my primary uses of it is to be something like a laptop when I am not in front of my pc.
My idea for it is to browse internet, watch some videos, play some games and yeah basically use it as a pc / phone. The reason why I want the keyboard is I don't really like the on screen qwerty keyboard.
A normal screen cover is R449 and the one with a keyboard is R549 so for a R100 difference it doesn't make sense going for a regular cover. I could probably get a cover for cheaper but by the same token I could get one with a keyboard for cheaper as well.
I got the tablet, well am getting it, because it seems like a very good investment because of its features and I really want to see what it is capable of. I don't know a whole whack about tablets, hence the thread lol

Angry Birds!! haha cliche.... Osmos HD, Super Stickman golf, Plague inc, Glow Hockey, World of goo, Words with friends (playing on the tablet or remotely with friends)
Flipboard for all sorts of news and it looks cool. Tune in radio for radio streaming.
If you want to watch some videos there are ones that can play anything, like rock player and MX player. Also does play videos from your pc in conjunction with ES Explorer
ES Explorer is brilliant file explorer and can do remote browsing, like to your pc if your on the same network, so you can open your shares for videos or photos.
IMDB for looking at movies old and upcoming, also watching trailers.
Sound Hound is great if a song plays on the radio or where ever, and you wonder what song that is, it listens and figures out what it is.

Depending on what you do for work there are apps for anything, and some which would make your work life easier. On the store just search for a keyword and your bound to find alot of apps that can do just that.

I am still waiting on Autopage to deliver the tablet, even though it was ordered over 2 weeks ago.
I saw that you can get Command and Conquer and GTA III on tablet, anybody had any experience with these games on a tablet, what are they like with touch screen or is it advisable to get the keyboard for it.

Depends on the tablet, if it's Android you cannot get Command and Conquer, GTA III is decent.

Well it is a Samsung galaxy tab so yeah it is android. I was actually really hoping for command and conquer over GTA III. I think a touch screen tablet is really ideal for something like a cnc game, if there is a way to use the touch and drag like a mouse in order to do things like group select. Oh well.
On the brighter side of things it looks like Autopage have finally delivered the phone so hopefully I will have it tonight when I get home from work :)
It has been nearly 3 weeks of waiting so as some of you may imagine I am pretty stoked by it.

Thanks for the link, I will check it out. Unfortunately it seems like Autopage have further screwed things up a bit so I am forced to wait a bit longer. Hopefully now it will arrive sometime early next week. I want to buy a data bundle for the new phone but my top up comes on the 16th, if I don't do it before then I will lose the opportunity as it doesn't carry all remaining airtime over in to the next month. I don't really want to do it with the current phone as I see problems happening as it isn't really set up with internet. DAMN I hate waiting.

It needs to be asked: Why on earth did you use AutoPage?

I have been using Autopage for about 6 years, never really had a problem with them till now. On research in to certain sites I see their standing in the market is not very good. Seems like their is a first time for everything. Due to the delay I am getting certain reductions in my fees though which is nice enough.

It is a tad old now by the looks of it :-(. We need to perhaps do another one with more up to date apps.

well thats why I reckon this is the perfect place, then I will also know what are good things to download and what things are a waste of my time :)

So after endless trouble with Autopage after trying to go for their Samsung P3100 Espresso tab I am getting to a point of canceling the order and going directly to MTN / Vodacom or Cell C.
I am looking between the R200 - R300 price bracket on a top up contract preferably but a data deal may be an option.
I want Android and obviously it must be cellular, not just a wifi tab.
What would be the best to recommend for me.

Primary use of device would be some gaming, internet browsing and watching videos online and offline. I would like it to be 7" as it makes it less awkward when using it as a phone however a 10" may be suitable if push really comes to shove when the hardware difference is worth sacrificing cellular ease for extra graphical power.

Yeah its one story after the next. I know head office ended up moaning at the particular branch because they were telling customers that they should be receiving stock at such and such a date.

Yeeha I finally got my tablet. So what good free games are out there?

My wife really enjoys Jurrasic Park Builder (I must say, it is quite fun).
Temple Run 2
Plague Inc. is my favourite.
There's a big fuss about Ingress, but it's not for me...
