Tales of Maj'eyal (ToME4)

Solitude

Mr. Nice Guy
I started played ToME a couple of days before I started playing No Man's Sky which was a mistake because it's so addictive.

Tales of Maj’Eyal is a roguelike RPG, featuring tactical turn-based combat and advanced character building. Play as one of many unique races and classes in the lore-filled world of Eyal, exploring random dungeons, facing challenging battles, and developing characters with your own tailored mix of abilities and powers.
With a modern graphical and customisable interface, intuitive mouse control, streamlined mechanics and deep, challenging combat, online stats and character sheets, Tales of Maj’Eyal offers engaging roguelike gameplay for the 21st century.

Key features:
Focus on randomly generated tactical battles
Rich set of very unique classes
Unlocks & achievements progression
Rich world with its own history which slowly reveal during the game
No consumables, no grinding
Turn based: think before you act!
Simple, easy to use interface
Easy modding support with Workshop integration

I've been keen to play a decent proper roguelike for years now and the nice thing about ToME is that it's very accessible and a good stepping stone on the way to something like ADOM.

From what I can tell, there is no difference in the free version and the steam version... Can anyone confirm?

I like the fact there's a linux version though.

This is secretly my most played game on Steam. Nothing has really come close in terms of options and gameplay opportunities when playing Roguelites. It's slightly dated now but it will also run on a potato.

Apparently the Steam version includes things that people get who donate towards the game. Or something like that.

That means I haven't got you as a friend on Steam! I'm happy to find someone else who is playing it! If you'd like to have a new friend then add me: solitudesa. :)
