What the hell is everyone's problem with her?!

Until I joined this site, I never noticed the abuse she gets on a regular basis! Now I see it more and more, and why is that? In EVERY SINGLE column she writes there is always a hater among them, why :confused:?

Sure, not everyone has to like her reviews/columns but its the same with EVERY single games journalist out there, everyone has their favorites (Just like I prefer Kevin Van Oord's reviews to anyone else's) and those they don't like but why go and dis her? I just read her new (?) column on the 3DS and how there is a big uproar about in on Facebook and then some loser posts a stupid/nonsensical/immature insult directed at her.

I'm not specifically attacking the members of this site. I'm talking about this issue in general.

Some people just don't know how to debate properly and resort to personal insults etc to try and get their point across. Taryn like being direct and she doesn't pussy foot around a topic. Some people can't take it add that to her sarcasm and u have a recipe for a flame war.

Me and old Taryn have had some awesome debates in the past and I can honestly say I have no problem with her or her writing style.

Which is exactly why I like her stuff! She'll let you know what she's thinking without putting the actual article in detriment.

I've only ever disliked one review of her's and that was the Enslaved: Odyssey to the West one. Otherwise she is a pretty solid journalist.

Her gaming knowledge and dominance makes her the alpha-female and quite possibly intimidates other lesser dominant gamer males out there into using insults and derogatory statements as a self-defense mechanism.

Also, she's not exactly one to refrain from speaking her mind.

Like she said herself. Her name is scary. Tarryn = Thunder, Van Der Byl = Of the axe ...

Also very True, the Avenger Joe game thinks they know alot about gaming, she actually does which intimidates alot of people who need to have a dick measuring contest everytime someone doesn't agree with them.

What Omega and Voicy said. Anonymous sexist comments make some guys feel better about themselves.
No one seems to notice when she's on here, she's very helpful towards other users.

Read any of them, theres usually always something there.
 
So what it boils down to in the end of the day it that she's a female playing/writing about a "males" hobby (Sport?), and she can't know as much as us males because she's a female and therefore actually doesn't have a "right" to comment/know as much as a male does?

I dig sarcasm in a journo. Lets me associate better, cause it lets me know they are also human and actually know what they are on about.

After I read that I actually tried to Google her and it turns out that her name is actually in the drop down list :p!
Otherwise I actually can't find a pic of her at all...
