Team Bondi has “gone bankrupt”

Not surprised, as they have received a lot of negative publicity (shut up, fellow BCom Marketing students, there is something like negative publicity) over the last couple of months.

Negative publicity doesn't get you bankrupt, spending more money than you earn gets you bankrupt. Which is surprising since I thought LA Noir was doing well.

It was doing well. Negative publicity can hurt you in finding more money, to compensate for what you spent. Doesn't help with Investors either.

I think that it's a strong possibility. Plus Rockstar has refused to work with them again in future. Maybe they were paying off employees to keep them quiet XD

I suppose confidence in your company must not be very high when one of the biggest video game companies in the WORLD refuse to work with you ever again. If I was an investor, I would withdraw every cent from the company.

pity they made a great game. At least development of the PC version is not being disrupted

From what ive heard the only scumbag is this "Brendan McNamara" guy,
no point in throwing the baby out with the bath water.
All the bad publicity was about him and him alone.

Ive worked for my share of bad managers , no point in painting the company black if the manager is a douchebag.

There are also many factors that come in to over spending a budget , especially if the manager is a moron.

Indeed. He was the only douche-bag (as far as we know). Unfortunately, he dragged the company name down with him. This stuff happens. It is not a reflection on the staff members, but one of the top guys getting very negative publicity, that seriously damages the reputation of a company.

Another developer bites the dust.
Amazing how most developers that enter the AAA market gets absorbed almost instantly by bigger fish, or just whittles away after their first big title...

LA Noire has been very impressive for me, so this is really, really sad if true. I've heard of many horror stories of Team Bondi's development of LA Noire. It probably did have to come to this.
