Team Fortress 2 adopts Free to Play model

That is really awesome news to be honest. More accessibility, more players, more longevity.
By now, the ingame store has probably made an absolute killing and they can easily make the game F2P. Good call by Valve.

If you haven't played Team Fortress 2 yet, you've really missed out.
Here's the opportunity to give one of the best MP FPS games a shot.

I stopped playing TF2 when it became nothing more then a hat and item fest :/

A real shame, I absolutely loved it before they started with the non-stop *MORE ITEMS AND MORE HATS!* updates.
 
If you have a slow line I would stay away from this game. The updates are crazy like the article said over 200.
 
Time to update TF2 again, but as Crzwaco just said, it's a nightmare for anyone with less than a 4mb line.
 
As fun as it is, I must say, it is a proper bandwidth hog. Not being uncapped hurts a bit as they update it often with new items etc...

But don't let that put you off, the game is HEAPS of fun and you can gaurentee atleast one "LOL" moment every game you play.

Most of those were content updates, its sad that we live in a country where that counts as a negative.

Anyway, still one of the best multiplayer shooters out there. You should at the very least give it a shot, be warned though that you might end up sinking like 1000 hours into it!

Content updates or not Its an update sometimes up to 200meg for just one little thing.
Also have played it but not my type of multiplayer shooter.
 
haven't played this in aaaaaages. Popped in a for a bit over weekend and it's amazing how much it's changed. I guess that's what my steam has been so busy with all this time :)
Great fun still.
