This is great and all

but i have 1 real concern, and this well this is interesting

Telkom states clearly, you request the 4096 line speed it but it is subject to copper quality etc, same goes for the 8mb upgrade, now this is where it gets interesting:

Say for instance you have the 512 line and now bumped up to 1024, your still paying the same, however people who requested a 4mb and now can only get say 2048 speed or even 1024 are told, you actually pay only for the 1024 service, now hold on just a second!

This oke who has a 512 line now gets a 1mb line at the price of a 512 line, i request a 4mb line but get the line only at 1mb, now ill telkom say sir we can onlyprovide you with a 1mb line becuase of the kak copper quality and charge me the price of a 512 line AND more imporatantly what about those that get 1024 at the price of a 4mb line currently, this begs the question...will their price drop down or will they have to downgrade for a 1024(4mb) to a 1024(512) line, this is somethin telkom can and WILL exploit

I am glad the upload on this offering will be 512kbps, but I am I still feel the pricing isn't entirely worth it. Up to 10Mbps for a few rands more.

So true but you also have to remember up to 10meg data cost a lot of money.

If you are running uncapped 4 sure.

At the moment I would just like a higher upload rate and ability to grab around 100GB a month (mostly locally) fast. :)

Can someone explain to me what happens to your data-package - say you had uncapped .512 what happens if your line is now 1mb?

a bit unfair of telkom to bump up the 512 kb lines and not the 384 kb lines. I guess they just trying to convince the 384 k peeps to upgrade and leave behind the old so that they can move on to the new.
