Telkom capped, when did it change from "only local" to "slower" speed when capped.

Hi,

We have recently had some issues with telkom at work, the cap at work is 5GB and lasted easily for a whole month.Usually when you get capped you would be restricted to local content (we upgraded to 5GB from 1GB because of this) but recently since the change that only slows down your internet once capped, we have reached our cap within half a month which is impossible.

Has someone else had this issue?

Are you maybe just throttled or shaped? What exactly is slower? And ow much of your cap have you used exactly ? Whos your ISP?

From what I've read he has hit the 5Gb cap and it now throttled to 384 as it is now a Telkom soft cap account.

Ahh okay yeah. I would prefer the soft cap than to being limited to only local sites though, even though it is very very slow. Not many sites that are actually hosted locally that I browse on daily
