Telkom Dispells Uncapped 'Myth'

Yeah right. I use +- 30 gigs a month just on browsing the net, viewing trailers and gaming online. even with their 5gig package I would have to boost 25 times. for a total of R69 x 25 = R1725. That little news letter appears to be aimed at the very casual net user. I used to be onb their 3gig package before mweb and I was boosting 5 to 10 times a month.

Totally not worth it.

Plus the psychological factor is gone and that's the biggest plus. I no longer need to ration my bandwidth or say "hang on I\ll wait till the end of the month to download it".

Uncapped ftw. Failing that WebAfrica's Titan bundles which give fast line speeds and 15+ gigs of data.

And they stressing FREE local data...what the hell who cares about local data when I have infinite international.
 
I think there's something to it, really. I'm a pretty heavy internet user - loads and loads of browsing and online gaming, and I barely manage to use up my 8GB of bandwidth each month. Most months, I use up around 6GB. And I do think a lot of ISPs are pushing their more expensive uncapped services over cheaper entry level packages that might better suit a lot of customers.
 
I'm still a WebAfrica subscriber and I've moved from a normal R290 5GB per month package to their Titan ADSL 25GB for R299 and I haven't looked back since. I cannot come close to using up my 25GB cap and I've been trying...trust me. I'm loving it. Uncapped is nice, but you have to know yourself FIRST before it makes sense. I know I'm not gonna use more than 25GB a month...so my current package is fine for my household.
 
The one thing that no one ever comes out and says is the quality of the actual bandwidth and routing you are getting
Trust me, if you knew what went on internally on the ISP landscape, you'd understand that capped is a much better option 99% of the time

Same here, the 25GB is perfect for me.
 
I'm on the Afrihost 15GB package. COD4, NFS Shift, gametrailers, forums etc, and I've only once ever used it up. My average monthly usage is around 10gb.
