Telkom LTE Uncapped

I've been on the 50Gb capped for about a year now I think (@ R699 I think). They launched the Uncapped for certain areas only and I was going to wait for my area until I heard about the 50Gb FUP and decided not to wait and go for the 50Gb+50Gb capped LTE instead (I get 50Gb extra between midnight and 7am). Being Telkom, I thought they'd probably enforce that FUP. Guess I was wrong. I have since upgraded to 100Gb+100Gb for R999 a month and I'm not even using all of it. My company is paying for it though so the R300 difference isn't a big deal for me.

The speeds for me aren't that great though. Sure, it is much better than the alternative (4mbps ADSL), but nowhere near the speeds it should be capable of, especially the upload speeds. Think my maximum speed so far on a test was about 20mbps and upload probably about 5. Most of the time though, the download speed is under 10 and upload speed is around 1. I'm still looking to try an outdoor antenna sometime.

Just for comparison, I tried a Vodacom SIM in my router. The download and upload speed was around 6mbps. I doubt that I've ever reached 6mbps upload speed on Telkom thus far. MTN is a mess at my location. I think I'm on the border of LTE and 3G so the router / modem keeps switching between the two which results in no connection at all.

Was all over the place! But he did not say much about it.
Going to install an antenna on the roof and see if that resolves the problem. Telkom was supposed to come install it for free. had the Router for almost a week, and not been contacted once for the antenna installation :/

Hub Zone meaning coverage area?
I am 5m outside of it. but they came and tested and said it will be fine. My Internet was 200% the first few days! no complaints at all. Then all of the sudden. And can't figure out why, and neither can they

The guy i spoke to has had 10 different stories. First he said I must just wait for the antenna to get installed (Still waiting for talkom to just phone me about this after a week) .
Then he said it might be something with the tower, and then my router and and and.
Just waiting for rain to stop then i will put up the antenna myself
 
I've been on this package now for the last 2 months. Absolutely love it. Best internet experience of my life. I'm currently downloading 14gb@80mb/s and still managing to do my work just fine.
 
I ordered this because my TELKOM phone line was broken for a month. Then on the day i ordered this they come to fix my line :-/

Question is i still want to try this out do they give you a day or 2 to make sure its works before your signed into 24 months of contract?
 
Guys Telkom's only still on the map cause they offer competitive data contracts subject to THEIR SPECIFIC level of service delivery. Understandably people will go for the cheaper offers but rembember cheap is sometimes more expensive. If ure willing to accept their crap you can use them but be warned it can be very frustrating at times. That's the reason I left them and paid extra to get a better quality service, period.
